Figarti on fire (1 Viewer)

Whats the 88 and prime mover limited to 100? And where can I order these?

I would think so, Matt at the HB will be the first to have them In the U.S.

Also you can get these from George at MMTS.

And anyone else that sells Figarti.

:eek:...finally a Sherman Firefly and a beauty at that.:cool:

Can someone more versed in Shermans confirm my suspicion that Figarti's version is the Sherman Ic?

In the London Show photos, there is a picture of Clive's display. The place card for the Firefly describes the set as "British Firefly VC," so I think this is probably the Vc version.:)

Did anybody get #1???

Paul,
Thanks for letting folks know I carry Figarti as well, I appreciate it; Matt has not contacted me yet for my preorder, so as soon as he does, I'll order some of them..............

With only 100 produced, I suspect even the main dealers will not get enough each to fill the number of orders they may receive. See what happens when the manufacturers make popular pieces that collectors repeatedly ask for like the Firefly, 88 cm gun, sdkfz 251 Ausf C and Ausf D.

Small runs (100 - 300) of high quality popular AFVs (Hobarts funnies, different versions of sdkfz 251,s, rad 8 armoured cars, etc.) will sell out quickly IMO. And yes, I put my money where my mouth is - I pre-ordered the Firefly, prime mover/88 cm gun, one of the CS 251s.

Hi All,
I'm glad to see all the UK "Froggers" were impressed with the new releases.
I will be posting the full story of the actual "Firefly" which was launched when my feet touch the ground again. There has been a lot of conjecture as to who actually "got" Wittmann but it now seems generally accepted in the official circles that it was trooper Joe Ekins acting as gunner in his first engagement during Operation Totalise.
So the model represents the tank named "Velkye Luki" 3 Troop,A squardron,1st Northampton Yeomanry,33rd Armoured Brigade.

I'm sure that should elicit some discussion.

Now to explain the "secrecy".

As there is still some time to the Chicago Show where no doubt Figarti will be unveiling yet more goodies I wanted to have a feel good factor for everyone leading upto the Summer holiday period.
Rick and the guys bust a gut to get these items ready and in fact I received them via courier 10 mins before we left home for the show.
I was as pleased as everyone else when I opened the boxes (only about 1/2 an hour before Rob showed up.)
Hence the limited numbers available. In fact the Winter 88 and prime mover are the 1st available so far.
As with the Winter Storches I took the decision to airmail these in which is high cost vs the normal sea freight hence the delay in general receipt by dealers.
And for IXEC the address is www.grey-goose.co.uk but you won't find photos yet, I haven't had chance to download any myself as yet.

All the Best
Clive

Good to see you yesterday Clive, anytime you want to spring a surprise on us like that its just fine, was great to walk up to your tables and go 'OH MY GOD'!!:):)

I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get a Firefly. Love to have it but it won't be the end of the world if I don't. It's a very fair price. I just hope that it's limited to one per customer so we don't have ebay gouging although I'm sure we will see a few on there.

It also wouldn't surprise me to see K & C come out with one either.

Congratualations on your 10,000th post. Does that entitle you to a treefrog's forum carriage clock?

Thanks, however, it only entitles me to bupkes*.

Good point, but I think the dealers are smart enough to fill pre-orders for as many of their regular customers as they can and not sell out to a few people. The main dealers should get a dozen or so each, and not everyone on this Forum shops with the same dealer.

Thanks Kevin for posting.

Any one have a close up on the infantry here with different photo angles? They look great so far.

Carlos

Carlos - been a bit busy, in due course. Have posted a few more tank photos on the market garden dio thread.

Brad,
Not sure why you'd feel that way; you preordered it already, so I am sure you'll get it.

Now if you had waited several days, then you'd have a problem as I have a funny feeling all three of the new releases will be technically "sold out" through preorders by tonight..........amazing.
