I have had this Figarti PzIV Winter since it first came out, and is one of my favorite's.

The paint started flaking on the side armor after a year or so in my display cabinet. No paint flaking I can see on any other places.
I showed 3 K&C figures with the Figarti figure as they match up size wise I feel.

Should i leave it as "Battle Damage" or try to have it fixed?

It doesn't look like real battle damage or realistic paint chipping to scale. I would remove the paint from the side skirts and repaint it with an airbrush if you can,or get someone else to do it for you. I have many Figarti pieces and the only one I ever had flaking on was the V2 rocket. Another possibility would be to maybe scrape the flakes off and just put mud weathering on them.

Correct me if I am in error; but the Schurtzen appear to be metal. Metal must be primed for long term adherence of paint. Can the Schurtzen be easily removed? If they can be removed immerse them in a paint solvent/thinner to strip the paint. I would then clean the metal surface with Acetone and prime it with any good model paint primer. When the primer has dried spray it with a flat white Acrylic paint. Tamiya and Testors both make excellent primers and spray paints that are available at any hobby shop or on Amazon. Kilted Vampire or Mitch could give you better advice, I suggest you PM them.

Based on my unfortunate experience, all the paint on the fender needs to be removed and, as Katana said, primed, the lack of which is the cause of the problem. I can't tell if the remainder of the tank is peeling but if it's not, the fear is that it too is affected. If the rest of the tank is peeling, it's probably a total loss.

Is it just the schurzen? That paint coming off would be / should be easy to clean. Then just prime and repaint. Maybe add a bit of rust , streaking and a bit of battle damage. It will look great.
Figarti made really cool stuff just seemed to have a problem with paint. Oh and fragility.

I can do the work if you want.:salute::

I had this model, paint peeled off (as usual) and additional armour on the turret broke off easily despite careful handling...haven't bought a Figarti model since

Be careful sending it to Mitch for a Custom paint job. Once you get a Mitcharti custom vehicle it becomes an expensive addiction. He would make that look amazing, though!

Thank you,I will take you up on your offer.Flaking is just on the schurzen, looks like there was NO primer Schurzen clips on brackets and comes off with no problems. I will contact you via PM/email. Andy
