I truely love Figartis products but I really think Steven, oops I mean Rick, (you had to be at OTSN) should include a tube of super glue with every purchase.
This time it was my fault, I was lucky enough to find the winter panzer at Treefrogs and I unpacked it today, everything fine. Then stupid me attempted to put the skirts on the wrong place and the piece broke off. Well needless to say this is where the super glue came into play, all is well.
In the past year Figarti has improved by leaps and bounds and their 1-30 scale WW2 line is now on my must buy list, but even tho the last several orders have arrived unbroken, getting them out of the packageing without damageing them is a daunting challenge.
Rick, if you read this, get your shipyard operating, an E-Boat looks to be a sure possibility in about a week.

Interesting - I received my Figarti Winter PzKfpw IV today and the hatch was broken off - obviously after a previous repair attempt. The glue was sloppily applied and had run around the cupola and underside of the hatch affixing the foam to the underside of the broken hatch leaving a horrible residue and clumps of foam. I would rather have had it arrive without an attempted fix - I know I wouldn't have botched it as badly as that individual did. I didn't even bother to unpack it further. Needless to say, I am not happy and contemplating returning it even though I know they are sold out so it cannot be replaced. I'll have to mull it over a bit more as I REALLY wanted this model and waited quite awhile for it to finally arrive.

I have heard a lot of great things about Figarti - and rightfully so from the photos I have seen - but this was my first Figarti purchase and I am left to decide if it is worth the frustration if this is "normal."

Never mind the grouch behind the curtain. :p:D

Gary,

I know what you mean about the unpacking. I got mine today and just stared at it for a bit trying to figure out how to get it out! Finally just took the plunge and thankfully no casualties.

Here's a couple of pictures of it along with the Winter Surprise set. :)

Sorry that you guys are having problems. It looks like a really nice piece. Good luck on the repairs.

I have never received a Figarti vehicle or artillery piece that did not have some kind of damage. Some worse then others. Keeping my fingers crossed that I receive the V2 launch control vehicle in one piece. I can't even imagine how many pieces the K 5 would be in.

Wow! Thats a Major Turnoff for me!

I'm just to particular (probably for my own good) but when I lay down cash

I expect an item to arrive intact!

I have numerious Figarti items, they are delicate but I only found one difficult

their SAS Jeep.....if I looked at it something bent.

King & Country over the years has been much more rugged! Several items

have fallen over, and occasionaly hit the carpet with no ill effects.

Only problem I ever had was two WS103's arriving damaged!

Two for two was enough so I gave up, even though it is a great piece!

Perhaps I will pick one up at a show one day, where I can see it in person

and carry it home on a pillow.:D

I currently have eight Figarti sets and haven't had a problem with damage.

i agree, 2 of my Figarti purchases have damages -

1. G4109E Adjusting Launch Platform
2. Black white V2

Chipped paints on figures is such a niggling problem i encountered, even when i opened the package for the first time.

even my V2 itelf has a chipped side.

Quality wise, Figarti is superb. But quality control may be tightened a bit, i reckon.

i am waiting impatiently for the Panzer Auf J and Storch (no holiday for me this year), but am a bit concerned as with extremely detailed products, comes some delicate parts, and i'll hate for it to be damaged during shipping.

I must be lucky. When it first came out i ordered my V1 from Shannon and then later when Clive became european distributor i got my V2 from him.On both occasions i had no problem at all,and both items were safely and securely packed.Says a lot for both suppliers i think.:)

Yeah...Unfortunately, Figarti and super glue go well together. Several problems here.

Ha! Speaking of Super Glue, its great stuff.....but also quite a problem at

times!

I have seen people much handier than I am use it like a magic wand. They

open it up apply it and a second later the job is done!

When I use it......the cap is stuck, I have to use a pin to open it up again.

If I try to use one of the long necked applicators it takes 10 minutes to

unclog that little gem.

Then I have to use the needle to open the glue again, to much always comes

out, and I have to hold the two pieces together (with my meat hook hands)

for a minute or so until it finally drys.

I usually find a finger or two stuck to the object I was repairing.....well

you get the message.

If anyone has any Super Glue Tips.......I wouldn't mind hearing them.:D

John, there are two simple solutions.

1) Only use Superglue GEL because it doesn't run everywhere and if it hasn't stuck in ten seconds it won't.

2) For a stronger bond use Two Part '5 Minute' Epoxy Resin, aka Araldite in Australia. I mix the two parts then wait a few minutes until it is nearly going off then apply and hold together. That way you don't have to hold the parts together for the full five minute curing period.

I don't feel so alone anymore. I got the winter Panzer IV and several of the small metal tabs (on the support beams over the track guard) that hold the skirts broke off. I have super glued them many times. The problem is that they are triangle shaped and very small. Every time I glue them, I glue myself and several other things that were not to be glued. I have used gell but their size makes it very difficult to repair. But I do love that tank and I will be keeping it for a very long time.

My model has five of those support brackets on the LHS. However it is missing the middle Three on the RHS but as the stubs are painted over I assumed those missing bits were normal

You are not alone in the world.

I use a super glue called Zap A Gap.There are 3 kinds. One that bonds insantly, the second that gives you a little time to get your piece in place ( most recommended ),and a slower type.I also have an accelerator for super glue but you have to be careful with it or you may discolor any paint that it touches.

My V2 Command Vehicle arrived today from Treefrog, with absolutely no damage. In fact, the only Figarti item I ever received with (minor) damage was one of the early Stuart tanks. Admittedly, it takes patience and care to get the items out of the box, but I would rather have to exercise patience than break out the super glue!:p:D
