Figarti website: Tigers and Crews are now listed (1 Viewer)

One question I have on these tanks is their size. Some people reporting from Chicago have stated that they are bigger then 1/32 but not quite 1/30. Is this true or are they more 1/32. The reason I ask is I love the idea behing the tanks but I would want to display it with a couple of K&C pieces I have. Any comments from those who have touched and seen them.

They are a little too small to display with K&C figures, closer to 1/32 than to 1/30.

I see that this is listed on Treefrog for November release. I thought this was supposed to be a December release.

While I'm waiting for 'official' release dates, I put November since that had stated that they woul dbe out before Christmas.

Maybe I'm too optimistic?

I collected Plastic for a long time ( still do) I think it funny how K&C collectors find this tank to be so pricey??? This is what many of us FOV, 21st plastic fans have said about your poly resin figures and tanks! $100.00 way too much!;)

Below are pictures courtesy of Mark (Build-O-Rama) comparing the new Figarti Tiger I’s with the KC Winter Tiger. You’ll notice the KC figures on the Figarti Tiger.

The KC Winter Tiger chassis is just a we bit longer and the gun barrel is longer than the Figarti Tiger. It makes you wonder which gun barrel is closer to scale. The KC Tiger’s turret is a bit higher but all and all the Figarti Tiger works better than I thought with KC Figures.

The camo net is Build-A-Rama’s and doesn’t come with the Figarti Tiger, but maybe it should, LOL.

Tigers I tank composition

Someone might have already mentioned this but I haven't seen it. At the Tiger I unveiling Rick said that these tanks would weigh 4.5 lbs. and would be composed of 80% metal, 20% poly-resin. The fact that they are almost all metal with individual pins in the tracks and over 950 parts merits discussion in itself. The literature doesn't mention the 80% metal, only that the take-apart aspect and 950 parts has not been seen before in painted polyresin but I took copious notes at the luncheon and I'm sure Rick said 80% metal. Rick is currently on vacation but when he returns I'm sure he will much to say on the forum about these tanks.
I am not familiar with all vehicle brands but almost all the vehicles I see in the lines we carry are either all polystone or polystone with metal accents. Is this almost all metal aspect with the extra detail new to the industry? Lucky for me my customers are the experts so I learn a lot from you.
Sales for these tanks have been brisk at Treefrog and we've only had them on the website since this morning so I don't think Figarti will have any trouble finding buyers especially since I believe they are limited to 200 of each version.

Shannon,

I believe that what you noted (the composition, the amount of moving parts and so forth) has been discussed. There was quite a bit of discussion starting the Sunday of the Show. Rick had also made a few posts on the discussion.

I expected a significant variance, but there doesn't seem to be much size difference at all. I feel both products would complement each other on the same shelf and even in the same diorama situation.

I have to agree with OzDigger, these tanks would work with K&C. I thought there would be a much bigger size differance. Thanks for posting the pictures Carlos. I like the fact you put some K&C soldiers with the tanks. It helped show that the K&C soldiers will work with these tanks. I may be getting one of these for Christmas but of course the problem is which one and how do I get the money.

Thanks,
Old Guard

Hi Louis:

Many thanks for the information & subsequent reply. This was one of those times where staring at it on a computer just did not cut it & I needed visual confirmation/backup!

Thanks Carlos.

The problem with addiction is enablers. People who allow you, by their actions, permission to pursue whatever trips your triger.

Posting pictures of the Figarti Tiger next to the K&C Tiger, now that's the action of an enabler.

Thanks Carlos, now I HAVE to get one.

I have to agree on the minimal size comparison impact. Because I am going to need $300 for this beast and $200 for the special Sherman, I started to sell off some of K/C stuff to buy better...Thanks, Michael

Dear All,

I have been away on vacation with the family so I apologize for not responding to the forum. But, I am back now so I would like to first say thank you for all your comments, suggestions and I will try to answer all the questions.

First of all, the Figarti Tigers are very rare, we will only make a total of 1000 units in five versions worldwide. The reason is simple and Andy (K&C) would know, it simply does not make economic sense to mass produce using the production method we are using. This tank has over 950 parts and all hand assembled and painted. If you get a closer look, you'll see this is not a diecast tank, the Figarti tank is all handmade. So why did we make it, well, because we can and we wanted to do a Tiger the "Figarti Way".

At $299 ($300), it is expensive but you get what you pay for, a 4.5lbs take down of one of the most famous tanks of all time. Diecast companies who may attempt to make tanks this way will spend almost $300,000+ just on mold investments but will need to sell 10s and Thousands to break-even. We will only make 1000, and that's it. This is part of our very exclusive and rare "Masterpiece Collection".

This tank will not appeal to everyone, but those who want a work of art or want to share a piece of Figarti's history, should get one (or two). We will number each tank individually.

Lastly, the separate tank crew sets were designed to compliment our Tigers as well as other 1/32 Tigers in the market. The Figarti Tiger comes with 5 internal crews as Steven Chong indicated. And as Alex mentioned, subtract the crew that comes with the Tiger, the actual tank is under $200.

For those of you who could not make the Chicago Show, you really had to put this tank in your hands to appreciate its value and workmanship. For those of you who saw it first hand, thank you on behalf of everyone at Figarti for your compliments.

I love our Tiger, I wish I could bring it to you at a lower cost, but once you receive yours coming Christmas, take a closer look and you'll know why I said we really did this Tiger out of our ambition to be different the Figarti Way, it was not about anything else.

Rick,

I assume the last paragraph of your post means a projected delivery of late December to dealers.

Also, I assume you're working on special packaging for these tanks and will test this packaging out in advance.

Hi Brad,

We are hoping to ship mid-November and arrive at dealers mid-December, and we have solutions for packaging, drop test will be conducted after our factory re-opens Oct. 9, after the holidays.
