Very excited to see the upcoming release of more early war German grey uniform soldiers. These new figures open up many new diorama possibilities. The battle for Poland, France, to the invasion of Russia and my favorite the Battle of Stalingrad. Maybe some MG teams or Mortars teams as well. Hopefully we will see more releases and hopefully some more early German vehicles to go with these troops. Like to see some SdKfz grey 231, 232 or 251's to go with these new troops.

I couldn't agree more. I love the Waffen SS stuff, but it is nice to get the early war grey Wehrmacht pieces too. I do hope that K&C expands on this theme, but for now, these new release are extraordinary.

Im with you all the way. Stalingrad was the battle of battles. Made Normandy look like the Falklands skirmish. Nothing beats the images of the Germans traveling across the vast hot Russia and the images of the artic-like Russian winters. Keith

My thoughts exactly. Love to see more German troops for the beginning of the battle of Stalingrad August thru October before the cold weather set in. Hopefully K&C will expand on this....

I am thinking that K&C will expand it, the gray Germans have so many uses. I was just flipping through one of my books on the Wehrmacht and it is clear that the possibilities as to what K&C can make in their regard is practically endless.

Last month we saw the first grey Germans, with this months dispatches revealing a second wave coming. I am quite
Interested in these releases and if even more poses come in the near term even better. !
A few in combat poses and maybe even go the mounted Wehrmacht on horse back route. :wink2:

Wonder if you had of fought in that so called skirmish whether you would have had the daftness to comment on something like that????? Having had family that fought in that skirmish and heard and seen what they went through its crass to make such a comment.

Mitch, If I had fought in the Falklands skirmish I would still say that Stalingrad was a larger, more brutal, and militarily significant battle.

I wouldn' t call the "grey" german uniform "early war" as the " feldgrau"( green-grey) uniform was used by the german army during all the war, till the end....:)

Its the fact that you are still calling it a skirmish which is the issue not that it was lesser than Stalingrad. It was a war plain and simple and your down playing of it deliberately or, other pays disrespect to those who fought in that war and those who died and were injured IMO. So, you are clearly told that its annoying and disrespectful to a member and, I am sure many others brits and argintinians so, I would respectfully ask you to can it

I am all for expanding upon the new grey Germans but with 2 waves of them done within the last 2 months I
Wonder if it will be some time before more grey or classic Germans appear. K&C has surely been putting out
A lot of new product lately..........Definately a good thing. ^&grin

Mitch, Im not down playing those who died or were injured in that skirmish im just down playing the skirmish itself. I fought in Afgahnistan and have been a US Marine since 1995 so I respect all vets, friend and foe alike. I dont think that Afgahnistan can even be compared to Stalingrad and thats not disrespecting any of our brave soldiers there either. Hope this cleared it up for you. Semper fi

I may not always agree with your posts, but I can't thank you enough for your service and dedication to our country. The sacrifices made by you (and the men and women Mitch mentions in his post) allow us all to enjoy the freedoms that are so easily taken for granted.

As a side note, I would love it if K&C would make a Falklands series. I know it will never happen, but it is one of my 'toy solider' dreams to see those produced.

Thanks PA. I was never injured or fired a shot. I patrolled daily and the worst part was waiting for something that never came thank God. I had a lot of friends there and we still keep in touch. Many times while I was there I thought of how much worse troops in WW2 had it than us.

That's quite disrespectful Keith, 907 people, Brits, Falkland Islanders and Argentinians lost their lives, they don't deserve to have their suffering dismissed as a ' Skirmish'. The Islanders saw it as an invasion, no different than your Germans in Russia. As for Normandy that you also dismiss , during the fighting the death rate in terms of like for like numbers was as bad as some fighting in WW1. I get that Russia and the Germans are your thing but we should respect all those killed in action,

Rob

There is no disrespect intended in calling it a "skirmish." Its like Vietnam and it being called a "Police Action." Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and civilians died there as well. I served in Iraq when it was downgraded to "Support and Sustaiment Operations," I took no offense. I was being mortared and rocketed daily, along with IED searches while on patrol, just as much as before when it was a "War" on terrorism. We don't make the decision on what it was called, the politicians do.

Keith, I think the issue here is that you are thinking like an American. We have that near endless bucket of resources & when we run into a wall, there's always a Plan B, or another resource we can call on. But for Great Britain & Argentina, they were playing with nearly everything they could & putting everything on the line for that contest. Even for America, the Falklands would have been a significant action, but for resource strapped G.B., it was betting the farm. The Brits won that one with not too many resources to spare. I think it was in essence a pyrrhic victory which bordered on catastrophe. Take the Brit losses & scale up based on force structure compared with America & the Falklands probably comes out a bigger operation than Guadalcanal. It was just revealed a few months ago that Reagan had promised the Brits a carrier had one of theirs been sunk. Who knows what else he promised them.

Politicians did not call it a skirmish, they called it 'The Falklands War', with great respect to you, your war record has nothing to do with this subject, it was a war to liberate the Falklands from an invading force.
