Finding the missing Spits (1 Viewer)

Rob..

I saw this a while back that they were trying to find missing aircraft and what a haul it would be if they are unbuilt. they would still be in great condition and to have even half of that number built and flying would be excellent. Nothing better than a spit!!!

This would be remarkable. A time capsule, as it were. It would be nice to have a squadron of 'new' Spits to admire. -- Al

Ever been in a jungle? The soles rot off your boots as you are looking at 'em. Don't get your hopes up too high chaps - there might be very little left - unless they were VERY carefully packaged. jb

I think thats why the people involved are excited by this, they were very well packaged by all accounts.

Quite agree with the rest of you chaps, the thought of twenty more of the most famous fighter of all time being in the air is good news, I hope if found they don't all go to private buyers and some may end up at museums and airfields for all to see, that is ' if ' of course .

Hope this isn't a similar story to the Harley Davidson WLA's that were still crated up and buried in various places around the World, had to buy my one already put together^&grin
