First Aid From Andy (1 Viewer)

I think the SLs are different as opposed to these limited runs of 250 because invariably the SLs are around for a very long time, the only exception being the Winter Tiger. I'm sure a new Winter Tiger, if it is a SL, will have a run of 1,250 (which I'm not really sure is limited but reasonable minds can disagree about that, considering the collector base).

However, there is no doubt with these 250s, quick action has to be the byword.

I am a little unsure what could be done to stop ''speculators'' from buying more than one of any set. I don't know if many buy loys of sets hoping to raise cash quick it may have happened in the past as sets were cheaper but, you really have to have some deep pockets to do this now and, make a profit regardless of whether its an SL or the new 250 range. If you do have that kind of money why do you need to buy up lots of K&C??

I think the market is strange at the moment and you really do not know what will sell well or not apart from some of the really old K&C which, IMO never tires in price or demand

No Comment ;) hope I will be able to get a Winter Tiger....maybeTreefrog can take my order NOW:)

Although that early model was a bit crude by today’s standards I think it’s still a great looking little vehicle. Here’s a photo of old and new together.

Andy, you're kidding right? This was perhaps the one that put your unique stamp on the industry.

When those ambulances rolled in, it was clear to collectors that finally, for the same price as a set of figures, they could add vehicles. For the first time, there was more than buying a set of figures and then drooling over the custom built vehicles only a few could afford.

Crude or not, it changed the way people collect and what they could come to expect from toy soldier producers.

I never saw that ambulance as crude or raw, it was the best ambulance ever produced to that point. Just my 2 cents on the subject.

I prefer the older one don't get me wrong the new one is a great set but, IMO the old one beats it hands down

From the photos....I think I prefer the paint job on the older version... a darker forrest green vs. kelly green it seems to me....but having never seen either one in the flesh... I could not say??....Older Version looks cool

I prefer the new version myself, I like that shade of green and it has a sharper look about it somehow.

I believe that the Hobby Bunker has a few winter versions of the ambulance left to sell. I was lucky enough to get one, which I'm going to use in a diorama, depicting the ambulance picking up the wounded soldier[winter stretcher party], from the wounded sherman.

These look superb don't they, I got my order in quick for the Bulge version as I don't think it will be around long, its going to make for a good diorama with that stretcher set.

Rob

I ordered a winter variant quickly as well, Rob....I definitely didn't want to miss out on that one! It's certain to go very fast. I'll be adding a stretcher party as well, but I haven't ordered that just yet.

Hi Rob, Is the new winter Tiger a SL release? She sure is a beauty!:)

Nice one Joe,that ambulance is just so good its bound to sell out quickly and as the stretcher party is not limited there's probably no rush on that one. Can't wait to get both and build a dio around them.

Cheers mate

Andy ...thanks for producing the Ambulance and wounded figures. I have been waiting for someone to do this for a long time...Wow are we going to have fun doing some scenes with this stuff !!!

Agreed, these are very cool. Indispensable for realistic battlefield dioramas:cool:
