First Dispatches of 2013 (1 Viewer)

Chris,

Yes mate I've been to both, if there is any way you can make it to Normandy you won't be sorry. There is just so much to see and explore. You have all the landing beaches, the airborne drop zones, more museums than you possibly see, pill boxes, gun emplacements, Mulberry harbours.......... well you get the picture mate! You would have a ball there and there is nothing like walking on those hallowed beaches. I walked up Omaha when the tide was out and man its incredible ANYONE got off there alive. And you just have to go to Merville Battery and Pegasus bridge where the Brit paras did their thing. Drop me a line when you know you are definitely going and I will send you THE guide book to use for Normandy with an excellent map.

Dunkirk is good and there are things to see, but its not so obvious as Normandy of course.

Best

Rob

Not to mention Waterloo (oops that is Belgium but hey that is where the well known Legionaiire Jean Claude
comes from), Crecy, Agincourt and Poitiers.
