First Legion British Guard - World Premier (1 Viewer)

Yes...it's top secret so it doesn't get copied. :D

No, seriously, I don't think the masters for the last 3 figures are done yet. Well, I'm sure they're done, but my partner is no doubt correcting them as he alway puts the finishing touches on them so when he sends me images of them, I'll share them with you. As you have astutely observed, 2 of them are kneeling and the last remaining figure is standing loading ramming a catridge into his musket.

Brilliant! Looking forward to seeing the last 3 images, and especially looking forward to seeing all of them in person in Chicago this Fall. ;););)

Here is a square made from only 11 out of the 14 figure variants coming up in this release. Personally, I think this is great example of why to use rectangular/square bases (though I will say it's also a great example to use smaller frontages as they look great all packed in like this!). This little ad hoc group comprises a total of 71 figures. While for many, this is probably a bit much to collect, but for those of the means, I think the results speak for itself!!! Will be even better with 3 more figure variants in it! Will be even BETTER STILL with First Legion French Heavy Cavalry bearing down! :D

Enjoy...

Ooo, that is bloody nice, I want it NOW!;):D I respectfully disagree on the bases however, since when you do that you cannot vary the front orientation of any of those figures even a little. Allah loves wonderous diversity (especially in dioramas).;):D Nonetheless, it is an awesome set.

These are so nice Matt. I will be buying these for sure. Maybe not 71 of them, but quite a few anyway! :D

The gallery on our website now has the last of the paint masters of these figures posted. The mounted colonel, the second standard bearer, a second standing firing variant, plus the 14 other figures that make up the full release. Go ahead and take a look if you're so inclined....

Great work Matt. Although this not an era I collect, I can certainly appreciate the effort you put into all of your figures. The horses are particularly stunning.

Frankly I just love the horses as well and I am not so easy to please with those. That is the main reason why I have no mounted figures yet for this period. I can hardly wait until we have British vs French cavalry. That will put a serious dent in my budget.;):D

This entire range is seriously amazing. Finally, a high level figure to make a full on British Square looking like a 3-D period painting.

Man, I really want these.

So do I, that will be the first dent in the wallet (or second really, I have already gobbled up some French Infrantry;)).

I just found this thread and went back to First Legions site to see the British. I must say that is some Square! Looks to be 80 + figures. I need at least one square!
Will save my pennies for these as well as a Squadrons worth of Big Brothers!
Top notch all the way.

I certainly agree with you but a full square will take more than a few pennies I think;):D What do you mean by Big Brothers though?????

Somewhere around $2500.00. That is a lot of change.Something else just has to go.
Big Brothers as I recall was a term of endearment referring to the Cuirassiers. The First Legion image of Cuirassiers look simply top notch, better than anything else I have in my collection of French Heavy Cavalry. Can't have too many . There at least looks to be several poses worth having duplicates of .

Hey Fub could cost more i figure twelve across and three rows deep works out at 144 men... and then you have to add some command guys :D.
anyway nice stuff First Legion.

My my..
those things are bloody impressive.
well, luckily for me, since my main ranges are WW2, Samurais, and Crusaders, i'm safe then (until next year's first quarter at the very least)

Well that First Legion square demonstrated has 2 rows of 2 deep plus 4 corner men or 68 total, which at the current $40 figure would be around $2720 plus the 3 command and color figures which would be another $135 or so. Maybe we could get a square discount.;):D

Thanks for the clarification Fub, I had forgotten the Big Brother moniker. Yes they look too good to pass up and they are what drew me to this line originally. Many good options for sure.

Since K&C made the heavy cavalry, CS and FL also made them. I am actually hoping to see other French cavalry, like the Polish Lancers or the Hussars (preferably 5th). The heavy cavalry was used as shock troops (so I heard). The real fighters were the lancers and the light cavalry.
