The Macedonian Elephant is now available for pre-order. No more than 95 will be made. Regular price is $1,295 but the pre-order price is $1,100. I’d love to order it but, upon reflection, I’m not wild about the pose of the dying elephant, plus I have the original one. I’m sure they will go quickly.

I’m presuming dealers received an email from FL. Otherwise you’re correct.

Yeah I am in this boat as well- nothing at all against FL it just goes against my grain- it is a stunning piece though through and through.

Dying humans- ok, animals- I get weak kneeded lol

On another note, if anyone wants to try to mix and mash you might be able to bastardize the UH6 and use it with KC's Somalia figures.

Pretty cool set IMO. Andrea made a version that you could have painted and assembled which I have, but this one is different and looks pretty good.

Just ordered the wounded elephant on FL website. I held out but in the end couldn't resist. I have the earlier release of the FL Persian war elephant some years ago now and hope they will complement each other at they attack my FL and JJD Macedonians. I figured I would regret not getting this set once it had sold out.

Kursk SS figures previewed. Not sure why the bases have rocks vs static grass, since they're Kursk? Other than that they look great.

I ordered one. It will look great paired with the earlier FL Persian elephant in a diorama with the many JJD, FL and Thomas Gunn, Persian and Macedonian infantry, archers, phalanx, Cavalry and chariots I gave collected over the past 6 or 7 years.

I was thinking about buying a figure or two for the first Persian elephant but the only figures I’d pair with it are FL figures; the figures from other companies are a step below.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion but my view is that JJD Macedonians are superior to FL's. I picked up all the FL figures as part of the big sale and was a little disappointed by their quality. However I do think the Companion Cavalry made by FL are superb.

To each his own. I had a few and sold them and unfortunately not for much. The secondary market on JJD figures tends to be poor on my experience.

I think the top picture is a better representation of what they look like. Neither of the photos is very good - the top one i took, the bottom one is a bit yellowish in tint to me. The top one are production figures, the bottom image shows the original masters.

I just inspected them a few days ago in China, looking great. Very happy with how they turned out.
