Hi all,

I'm an avid collector of K&C figures, collecting several range. I have never looked at FL closely until very recently. I was browsing their website when I came across the Samurai line. The colour scheme just caught my eye and I knew I had to start this range, and I'm excited to say that this is the first time I'm collecting anything besides K&C. In my opinion, the detailing of these figures are a step above K&C figures but I guess the difference in price reflects that. The only issue I have with FL is the slow release of figures (compared to KC) but I guess my wallet will thank me for that! By the way, the mats, cherry blossom trees and shrubs are from JG miniatures.

On a recent trip, I came across St. Petersburg Samurai figures and I'm just blown away by their workmanship and attention to detail. I figured that these Russian figures would blend in pretty well with my FL Samurai diorama. I only managed to buy 4 of these as that was all they have in store and I heard that they are pretty hard to come by. I'm told that these figures were made by Tatiana Studios. I have attached a pic of the base of a St pete figure. There are 4 Russian figures in the rio, one on horseback and 3 standing Samurais in various action poses. I have decided to post it together in this thread as there are no sub-forums for St. Petersburg figures.

Anyway, thanks for viewing the pictures, any comments are appreciated.

I think you are doing extremely well. I love your selection of figures and the display. Congratulations.

It also confirms my personal observation that the Russian figures go pretty well with First Legion. I mix them, too, whereby I use FL for troops and St. Pete figures for individual eye catchers in the front.

The range you picked gets great reviews. I think you chose wisely. :)

I do not know whether you already had a chance to read up on the battle of Nagashino. If not, I would highly recommend it. From my perspective it was an interesting and surprising choice by Matt, but I understand his fascination from his war gaming background with the densely packed barricade versus the waves of cavalry.

Having said that, it would be great if you found it in you (and your budget) to further improve the visual impact of the operation of the barricade. One of the big differences (in my observation) between KC and FL is that FL offers a lot of figures with small differences allowing the creation of full battle lines.

Welcome to the world of FL Jeff. Yes, they are a little more expensive but worth every penny. With FL you don't need to worry about retirements as often. If you go to the FL Treefrog page you will see the current retirements. They are very few and none are Samurai. I see you also dipped into Russian figures. Woe is you ^&grin Looks like you made some excellent choices. Congrats.

Superb display. This is the best line FL do IMO excellent figures
