First Legion vs Other Manufactuers Size Comparison (1 Viewer)

Here are some First Legion with Forces of Valor. I think they work well. Simmo

They look very nice together. I have the new Figarti Grey snub noze and have ordered some FL German Tank rider's. From the FL fig's I already have they work real well with the Figarti Tank.

Rod You used FL with a FOV Tiger with good results.

It isn't rocket science to see what FL has done, they make a fine product. Those of you are into FL heavy are pulling your hair out trying to understand why some are hesitant to make the FL plunge.

It is the size and the price. I understand their quality comes with a price and I understand all of the true 1/30th stuff. But if they were compatable it would be an asset to be able to use them with other stuff you have.......And for some the cost is over the top.

Nick and I just sold a LOT of stuff, to the tune of about 6 grand. Every day we are weighing how to apply these funds. FL is heavy in the mix, but we have not committed yet. For the reasons above.

Some are saying the Figarti T34 fits with FL, I saw the pics they look good. If I could use FL with Figarti I would be in heaven. Alex

What FL has done is only produce the best toy soldiers out there 1:30th scale....Glad that this company has not produced a clone of other products.... why copy what is poorly done^&confuse^&confuse.....First Legion is umatched in realism if you want to build realistic diorama....I'm glad they are 1:30th....I do NOT want them to be 1:28th....not at all..... and claim to be 1:30th as is the habit of other manufacturers....They seem to work well with recent Figarti AFV's......First Legion Rules{sm4}

Frank,
I think you are missing the point in your over zealousness to promote your favorite toy soldiers. The quality is not what Alex is talking about. He simply indicated it would be nice if all the manufacturers produced similar in size because then folks who like multiple manufacturers could mix the product. I don't think that is a terrible point to make or a slam on anyone's product. Just because you don't want to mix, doesn't mean that others are the same. I personally like the German with the dog, but for me it unfortunately is a stand alone piece for the most part although I am going to try it with a Figarti Tank (my taste is not as scale specific as others).

I don't know about the rest of the forum(s) members, but this constant berate/promote cycle that goes on is ridiculous. At the end of the day, why is it so hard for people to understand that different people will like different things. No one is right nor wrong, it is a preference. The basic "crap" that this manufacturer is better than this one that we (the general forum public) is subjected to on a day in day out basis is nauseating.

Sorry for the soapbox, but bottom line, enjoy what you like. And I don't think there is a need to defend every manufacturer at the drop of a hat when somebody else expresses an opinion or like or etc.

So, not disagreeing with any point you make per se, just don't understand the need to constantly berate other's opinions or preferences.

I'm not berating anyone....But I personally am glad that FL has gone their own way in scale and style.....This company is constantly criticized for not being compatible with other manufacturers products....I glad the're not......They have brought something new to this hobby and it's long over-do.......Maybe it's other manufacturers that need to follow First Legion's size and style and become compatible with FL.....I'm all for that plan:wink2:.....I think you may start to see some of that real soon.....Figarti's latest release seem to be more compatible with First Legion....I am happy about that.^&grin.....These discussions regarding FL size incompatiblity are tiresome....If you don't like FL don't collect it.....Most FL collectors are seemingly enjoying the product and it's unique approach.......At least FL is consistent in scale.

It's been mentioned before. The constant berating of other manufacturer's and the collectors who foolishly buy those products in almost every post really reduces credibility of the many good points he makes in his posts.

Frank,
Again it is the over/hyper sensitivity display by all parties (regardless of favorite manufacturer) is what I am talking about. You will never see me criticize scale in any matter, I frankly don't care about scale because I am not a modeler per se. I was simply trying to point out that Alex (IMO) was not critquing any manufacturer, he was only lamenting as a modeler he wished they were all compatible as he likes parts of all of them. At least that is what I got from his post.

My point to you is that you make fine points but they are buried by the constant defense, aggression, rah rah or whatever you want to call it verbiage in your posts. Why are you so angry???? It is only a hobby which you obviously enjoy, so enjoy it and keep contributing the positives. That's all, no judgement, just trying to make the experience more enjoyable.

I will second that Vezzolf, they work great with the new Figarti Armor. Not that their is anything wrong with FL armor. :salute::

Hi Tom, Frank, and Terry,

The discussion among yourselves seems to be growing in intensity. If you wish to continue your personal discussion, I suggest you do so via PMs. If your public discussion grows more intense, more personal, and more heated, you may rest assured intervention will occur. In short,...

Give it a rest. We have witnessed such discussions many times and they usually do not end well. Take a deep breath, relax, and remember, it is only a hobby to be enjoyed in whatever manner a given collector deems appropriate as long as that enjoyment does not infringe on the personal preferences of other collectors.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

There is no doubt they are excellent. They are a little light weight wise, if that bothers you and they are smaller than the other main stream manufacturers. I don't have a comparison pic, but here is a regular old pic. I did weather and rust this Stug a bit. There is something unusual about this pic and no one ever picked up on it. ^&confuse:wink2: Alex

For unusual Are you talking about the leg of the guy under the track?

Dave

It is impossible for a Stug to be able to come out of this mess….BSP you put too much debris into + too much visual PHOTOSHOP effects, it took me more than 40 seconds to be able to understand the whole scene, and see the soldiers....
Wow, a whole 40 seconds gee wiz....{eek3}

Actually there are NO photoshop effects ? The smoke is cotton with light bulbs underneath. Secondly the debris would be appropriate for the amount of damage to the near by buildings. What you cant see is a clear path behind the stug. He is moving into a defensive position in the debris, which would be appropriate for a tank killer. If the real thing constitutes this amount of damage then to be real it has to be shown, but the focal point is clearly the stug. (In the above pic not the one below) Alex

We are not concerned with featuing the soldiers and vehicles we are concerned with the balance of a real scene with all components considered.

Matt loved these scenes !

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and we appreciate you crtitcism.

We never published this pic because we did not like it, but it shows the cleared path behind the Stug.

This scene did not call for all of the visual information to create the appropriate enviornment, so it is a bit stark. What ever it takes to make it real.

The second one is very good as I already mentioned to you on the diorama section.

But still not like the first (from different angle)...

This is a FL thread, but the Figarti Flakverling is a nice piece. I didn't get it when it first came out, I picked it up in a trade a month or so ago and I am happy I did.
