Five of the best. (1 Viewer)

This thread needs to be deleted! ;) How dare someone ask us to pick just five! Its an impossible task I say. At any given time my picks change from era to era, soldier to vehicle, airplane to boat, winter vs summer theatres etc. So I'm sorry and I can't choose five and will not participate further on this thread. :D

P.S. However if push comes to shove those Arnhem figures are tough to beat......until maybe the D-Day Canadians arrive!

Slightly off subject but when I saw the title I had flashbacks to schooldays .............. "Six of the best" was the term for when the teacher was going to cane somebodies behind !!!
Now back to the subject !
Regards
Brett

Brett, I had a similar flashback, but I only ever got "Six of the Best" across the finger tips. It did hurt, but I guess I was lucky I was spared the rear action Brit naughty boys received  :D

This is a very good thread and now i feel tempted from the figures posted by Rob..the MG range is one of the best and the radioman it's now on my list..so are the Commandos, but i think it's more difficult to find them..for my five..i'm working on it , it's really difficult to choose only five but in due time i'll post my list!

This is a great thread and there are so many great figures to choose from.

I decided to exclude any that have already been choosen since my list of

favorites was already more then a dozen!

Four of them I have, one I do not which I saved for last! Its always fun to

have something to hunt for!

1. AN11 Rare, and Unique.

2. CF01 Rare, Unique, and the first Club Figure.

3. BBG07 Certainly Unique.

4. VN03 "I Love the smell of Napalm in the morning".

5. AN12 Hell of a use for a good bottle of Vino!

This is a tough thread but Harry posted a picture of HK106 5 Chinese Lady Musicians which has got to be one of the best paint jobs ever and at US$23 per figure is a steal.
Had never seen the VN03 Small of Napalm before.
For a one off item I would have to pick NA87 Sgt Ewart siezing flag from two French infantry.
Whilst I don't collect them I really liked BR51 Mounted Indian with booty.

Brett

I don't have indivdual shots as everything is boxed up for a move!

The second figure in the first three sets are standout figures for me, and the last two three man sets are excellent poses:cool: All these sets really stand out in diorama's and the sculpting/colours/poses in the whole fall of berlin series is K&C at its best

Very nice mate, love that Russian set.

Following the fine example of Lord Harry of Scotland I feel it is cruel and unusual punishment for me to pick just five....so here's five more!

A lot of guys say Arnhem was the turning point, some say the DD series after Saving Private Ryan, some the first polystone Stug, but I think it was those Vietnam sets. I must dig my Huey out and take a picture.
Great choices John

BTW thes are my (first) five:

Thank you, and by all means dig out your Huey! I would love to see photos!

The Vietnam Series is one of my favorites, each figure is unique slightly

different from each other. They almost come to life in your hands.:)

QUOTE]

Simmo, I loved this pair. Yes, they are gruesome, but so is war, right?
:D

I wish Conte made a 'blood eagle' one of these days. The 'blood eagle' was kind of a Viking human sacrifice, where a king (always an enemy defeated in battle) had his back cut open, his ribs broken and his lung pulled out!
:eek::eek::eek:

I don't think I'll ever have a 'blood eagle' in my collection...

Cheers...
