FIW Bushy Run (3 Viewers)

No absolutely nothing about the battle but these figures look great especially the warriors.

All I can say is "Wow". I will be collecting all these figures. Although the battle was a fairly small affair , it was pivotal in the fact that clever tactics by Col. Bouquet (60th) and outstanding bravery by the small combined force (42nd/60th/77th detachments) defeated woodland indians in their own backyard. The battle culminating in a bayonet charge which finally scattered the indians. Casualties were fairly heavy on both sides, but the pressure was taken off Fort Pitt and Bouquet was able to continue his way to the relief and resupply of the fort.

These are limited Edition so I hope Britains increases the number of sets as they look to be one of the must haves of the year so far.

Another view with a bit brighter lighting. I also corrected the officers vest and belly box colors.

Another new photo posted to the WBritain Facebook Page showing three new figures for Bushy Run in the Clash of Empires range . . . . This series is turning out to be a very nice offering . . . .

Yes it is.I have a feeling that Britains may have to make more figures than originally planned for and by that I mean new sculpts.

Hi all,
Thanks for the kind comments. We are working on additional sculpts for this range that will be useful for this battle and ones that took place during the French & Indian War. The figures posted on the Facebook page will be offered in the Summer catalog with the additional figures later in the year.
Thanks,
Ken

The figures look amazing, Ken! I hope we get to see some Royal Anericans and 77th Highlanders! Also present at Bushy Run!! Would like to see standard bearers too!

I got to see the paint masters of these this evening at the dinner for the WB Soldier/Historical symposium being held this weekend at the Wisconsin Veteran's Museum in Madison, WI. I must say they are exceptionally well sculpted and painted. They will be available this year. FYI . . . . next years Symposium will be held at Fort Meigs in Ohio. Fort Meigs is a War of 1812 stockade (largest one in the US). At that event the blockhouse that will be made for the Clash of Empires range will be available . . . .

Mike, appreciate the information and I am sure you had a good time at the Symposium. Hopefully I can attend next year. It has been a long time since I have been to Fort Meigs, beautiful 18th/early 19th century fort in western Ohio. It will be nice to have a blockhouse for the CoE range. Something to look forward to for 2017. Chris

Fort Meigs is a terrific site and a great choice. Hopefully I'll finally be able to make it to a WB Symposium/

Me too, would love to see it again without wearing a wool uniform. Chris

The Bushy Run paint master figure that impressed me the most was the Woodland warrior that is kneeling while aiming a bow & arrow (see Troiani print far right side as shown on page 1 of this thread). For me, too often when a manufacturer creates a figure that is using a bow & arrow, or creates individual arrows that are stuck in the figure's base, the arrow shaft, fletching, and arrow head seem to be HUGE and out of scale. I always excused that away thinking that at 30mm scale what could you expect before the arrow was too fragile at any other smaller size. At least that was the case until now. The Woodland warrior mentioned has the best looking arrow (scale and proportion wise) that I have ever seen on a historical miniature. I gave Ken Osen a big "atta boy" on this. He explained to me the process that was used to develop the arrow and also said that in the near future WB will be selling packets of individual arrows such as this for diorama scenics. These arrows will also be used in future Viking/Saxon releases as part of the figure and as separate items. Imagine a shield wall with shields and groundwork "peppered" with arrows that are close to scale. Even the veins in the feather fletching were clearly visible. To say the least, I was very impressed . . . .

Mike, that is awesome, can not wait to see them in person. As you said, some things are just hard to scale to 1/30 and arrows is definitely one of them. Did they say when these will be available? Chris

The paint masters are done. The figures will be in the next catalog which will be coming out soon. The first series of Bushy Run figures will be out this year. I am glad you caught my mistake of 30mm instead of 1/30 {eek3}. By the time I caught it I couldn't go back and correct it.

Mike, no worries, those sets should be stunning and will add nicely to my CoE collection. Nice to see WB gaining momentum this year with the transition being almost completed. Chris

Mike, thanks for the link, saw the Bushy run sets, most impressive, also looked at the new ACW figures and seeing some things that were on my wish list. I especially like the equipment set with the cartridge cases, bread boxes, knapsacks and stacked rifles. Looks like this is going to be a good year. Chris
