Guys...

Just saw these new sets are starting to creep onto the site. Look really nice and don't expect them to be around long. the poses are very good IMO probably agree with TG that the soft cap troops are good to have in fighting sets as it offers great variety than just steel helmets all the time. Perhaps some bare headed troops may come in the future for even more variation to a diorama??

They really are nice figures. The figure with the MP40 is very good. -- Al

Guys,
Figures are very good but..... Field cap should be field grey or desert yellow. I have NEVER seen a picture where the FJ's wear field caps in camo colours
So repaint will be necessary

Did the Field cap exist in camo? I know the Waffen SS had a camo field cap but don't know about the regular army. -- Al

The cap is meant to be a locally made variant possibly from a splinter pattern helmet cover that was no longer required. We did paint the cap in grey to start with but it looked kind of boring to be honest.

I have some seen some very interesting photos of FJ jump smocks made in Italian camo and another with a palm tree pattern - maybe we will do these one day as well!

Keep the faith!

Must admit I have some pics of FJ's (in black and white but, clearly distinguishable) where they have camo soft caps. Got the books in november so will put up the references for them when I get time but, these FJ's well, one of them in a non combat role had on a camo cap. May not have been general issue but, they had them

I am sorry but to my knowledge only the SS and SS fallschirmjäger had the camo cap

Guy...

I know the regs etc but, soldiers mix and match and, maybe thats what happened who knows stranger things have happened in german battle units

I think they look really cool, I do love the helmets but it does make a nice change to have caps.
As someone has mentioned before, be good to see bare heads, prehaps with head wounds etc.

These new sets are all winners in my opinion, top job Tom

Great looking set indeed. The MP40 pose is one of the better figures I have seen in a long time. The prone figure w/ the soft camo cap rounds out what is sure to be a very popular set. I appreciate the fair pricing as well, especially for such a fine product.
