What do you think guys, should i continue my slow steady catch up or shall i break my own collecting habit and buy some FJ's(none of which i have yet).Don't get me wrong, there are people dying in the world for want of food,so its not a real problem i've got here. But i would be interested to know if any of you guys stick to your plan and never deviate?

Buy the FJ's they rule. Then start the Civil War line. K&C will be cranking out new WWII for life and everyone will have it.

Have a good day.

Wait for the desert or Bulge FJ's to come out. They must be in the pipeline.

Stick to my plan.....???? You must be joking Rob.
Every time I make such a plan, like - okay only SOHK/IC, EA/AK, Crimea, (and can't remember right now what else I was going to limit myself to this year), I end up reassessing the plan on average every second day cos there's so many goodies out there.
Maybe I ought to just forget the plans and just do what I've been doing up until now anyway - go and buy those figures that appeal to me, no matter what the era or manufacturer - and enjoy.

Now don't go siccin' the Village Court on me, but I have to confess to the ultimate blasphemy - I haven't bought much WWII for some time. I'm breaking into Ancient Greeks & Persians, Zulu War and FIW. Can hardly wait to get my hands on my recent orders. Shall certainly be returning to the Western Desert though, when K&C release the new Crusader and Grant.....:):)

Cheers

Haven't gone for the the FJ's, not sure how they fit in other than as standalone pieces, whose opposing them in battle when they are wearing than uniform? The british troops are thin on the ground:confused: I would pass and catch up, plenty of cooler stuff to spend the war bonds on:)

Rob,
Redhugh hit it square on the head; they are great figures, the four man attacking set and the a/t gun are beauties, but you'll need some opposing forces to slug it out with them as there presently are no early war figures to do so.

However, you could get creative and use the FOB British troops and there you go, Battle of Greece/Crete, problem solved.

This may not fly with the rivet counters in the crowd, but it's your collection mate, do what makes you happy.

The fact that your mulling this over means they have caught your fancy, correct?

Regards,
George

I'd recommend the FJ series as they are good figures at a reasonable price and should hold their value as WWII German stuff seems to do - like em or not ;)

I'm a stickler for plans, but after more than 30 years of collecting I've discovered that the plan will change several times, but you can always sell the mistakes to buy stuff for the current plan ;)

I'd go with the EA Brit and Aussie sets as well. I don't know if they're 100% accurate, but I'd say close enough.

You could even throw a few of the Kiwis from the SAS/LRDG sets in with them, maybe we'll beat those pesky Germans on Crete this time.

Good to hear i'm not the only one who makes plans Oz,my wife thinks i'm sad!:D

Go for it Rob - you know your mind's essentially made up anyway, you just want us to condone it so you can feel slightly better:D!

Seriously though, they are lovely figures, and in a wider sense it is hugely difficult to limit yourself when there's so much attraction out there. At the moment, I'm trying to limit my WWII collecting to the Arnhem range, and (if they do hopefully come out later this year) any potential new Wehrmacht figures. But, with all this alarming talk recently about late-war, Normandy/Bulge FJ, I can predict my discipline being stretched extremely thin:). Ah well...at least the road to penury will be paved with new figures;).

Cheers,

Molloy.
