If FL ever decides to do a COLLECTORS CLUB.,, they should do a General Paulus figure.. Or maybe even a ROMMEL figure, because nobody has as of yet made a good sculpt of Rommel..

Or even a Wellington or Rowland Hill. Then maybe a French or English bandsman performing their medical duties.

I think this idea was already brought up before and quickly shot down in flames by Mr Matt . Although the figures you mention would be cool subject matter for First Legions Personalities line , I wonder when that line will include the appropriate WWII figures :D Gebhard

I think these are great suggestions, however, I don't see the need to do them in the confines of a "Collector's Club." We just want to make nice figures, no fuss no muss and a Collector's Club just feels like one more thing to manage with no real benefit to anyone.

Paulus....of course. Our Stalingrad range would be SHAMEFUL without him. Others need to be done as well on both sides and we'll get to them eventually. The Stalingrad release plan just keeps growing and personalities are certainly a part of it.

Wellington...of course. Our Waterloo/Mounted Personalities range would be SHAMEFUL without him. He and another British General are currently in the works, so there you go for some early confirmation of something. Who the other one is I predict no one here will guess successfully.

Rommel...well, there's an interesting idea and if we ever dabble in DAK at some point, I think we could do a superb Rommel.

It never hurts to dream. Even if there is no chance for a "Collector's Club", it is another chance for Matt to hear from his customers and maybe get an idea for a figure.
I like the idea of a vignette piece, e.g. the afore mentioned musicians performing medical functions, a flogging or church call. There is a description in a book I am reading on Borodino of Orthodox priests blessing the Russian troops before the battle. Cool ideas that may never be made, but fun to imagine.

Did I hear Wellington!!! I've been waiting for that one... well it seems like ages... thanks Matt!!! :):):) and :)!

While this is good news, I would really love to see a British Command set like the French one. Not that this hasn't been brought up before, but I can just picture it. And how about a Peninsula flair to boot, with Wellington, Hill, Cotton, De Lancey and Crauford, just to start with.....

That would make Bill's day!

good news indeed.:)

matt, please affirm this sentence -

Takeda Shingen...Our Samurai range would be SHAMEFUL without him. :D

and whilst i like the DAK as well, please continue on the eastern front, heck the battle for stalingrad had just begun :p

it might take some time, but hopefully i'll be around when FL moves to other ost front theaters like Kharkov, Kursk, Cherkassy, and Berlin.

....
I wouldn't be so sure; there were only so many at Waterloo and far fewer worth considering.;):D Perhaps we will see Wellington galloping between divisions, as he as want to do in the midst of battle generally leaving his staff in the dust.

I would think more likely, Wellington would be modelled to fit in with Lord Uxbridge who seems to be turning toward someone. We may see a complete British High Command mounted grouping which will be filled over time, in contrast to the Napoleon command set.

I think our Wellington sculpt will be a nice one. He won't be "galloping" I don't think, but he will certainly be active! :D

As for who is worth considering, really that all depends on the individual. I doubt many people would have thought of Orlov Denisov for Borodino, but we did. I'm sure most collectors haven't even heard of Orlov! So to us, really anyone is worth considering that we can make a beautiful figure of. :D After all, that is a large part of the consideration of what gets put into our Mounted Personalities range. Wellington almost got passed over because of this, but we made an exception in his case and in the end, despite the fact that he won't be as ornate as some others, I think it will end up a beautiful figure.

NO question FL is innovative in its choice of figures but Orlov was not exactly a left field choice.;) Afterall he commanded the Leib-Guards Cossack regiment that first met the Napoleonic troops on the river Niemen banks in the 1812 campaign. He lead his regiment valiantly in the battles of Vitebsk, Valutina hill, Smolensk and Borodino and especially in distinguished action in the battle at the river Chernishna near Tarutino . General Bennigsen in his report about the Tarutino battle wrote: " Orlov-Denisov acted in the bravest and brightest way. His courage does credit to the Russian arms."

So with this precident it could be a British General at Waterloo who distinguished himself elsewhere during the war. Also, I suppose he should be a bit of a peacock.;):D

Excellent, I would like to see a Wellington figure. I actually prefer the simpler uniforms. I hope that plain uniformed Marshal Blucher would soon follow.

Well Matt, you dont have to do a DAK range to do Rommel.. He was also involved in the France campaign.. and he inspected the "Atlantic Wall" in 44.. Personally, i wish someone would do a Rommel sculpt in a non DAK uniform.. But i ultimate dream is for FL to do German parade figures.. From ww1 all the way through WWII

i think K&C has one. if you hope FL will make one, i think it won't be soon. in the WW2 range, we are still in 1941. ;)
