Fl collectors club figure idea (1 Viewer)

i think K&C has one. if you hope FL will make one, i think it won't be soon. in the WW2 range, we are still in 1941. ;)

1942 Nasir.
West Front is saturated, to many figurines already has been created. Do not forget, winter is coming in Stalingrad, and some major constellation battles too.

sorry rod, my jerries are stuck in Volokolamsk.:D

Well Matt, you dont have to do a DAK range to do Rommel.. He was also involved in the France campaign.. and he inspected the "Atlantic Wall" in 44.. Personally, i wish someone would do a Rommel sculpt in a non DAK uniform.. But i ultimate dream is for FL to do German parade figures.. From ww1 all the way through WWII

Although Military parades are an interesting topic. I for one hope First Legion stay away from that for a Long, long time and focus on Combat themes . That's a slippery slope , once you start heading down that road you just may fall so far as to make a Himmler in Bermuda shorts laying on a hammock

As long as it is Himmler and not Goring! I also agree that combat poses are more popular. Although........ Napoleon in a turtle Neck or Wellington in a cardigan!:D

Not likely...producing a Goering figure is too expensive...twice the metal.

...Wellington...of course. Our Waterloo/Mounted Personalities range would be SHAMEFUL without him. He and another British General are currently in the works, so there you go for some early confirmation of something. Who the other one is I predict no one here will guess successfully....
Since I love a challenge and an excuse to research Britain’s Napoleonic adventures I thought I would give the mystery general some more thought. Since the only British battle being covered is Waterloo, it would seem our general had to have been there. Since Matt said we would never guess, I think we can eliminate Picton, Pack, Hill, Ponsonby, Kempt and Maitland, as all too obvious. De Lancey is also a bit too obvious and Craufurd, while a great choice and certainly colorful, was killed well before Waterloo in the assault of Ciudad Rodrigo. Halkett, the KGL and 5th Brigade commander who fought at most of the major battles of the Peninsula is an interesting choice but while not a household name I think he is also a bit too well known. Cooke of the 1st Guards is not that well known but doesn’t feel right. Byng is a possibility since he was a fighting general for much of the Peninsula and personally planted the colours on the top of a critical ridge taken by his brigade at St. Pierre but perhaps he also is too obvious. Alten would be an interesting twist since he was the only Hanoverian to command a British division distinct from the KGL but that makes him a bit to obvious as well. Adam is also an interesting choice since he was at Madia in 1801 and as one of the youngest generals lead his reserve brigade in distinguished action against the Guards and Waterloo but he doesn't feel right. Somerset of the Household Guard certainly has the credentials and we have been promised some heavies but we already have Paget so another cavalry general seems less likely.

A fascinating surprise choice could be Sir Edward Barnes, the adjutant general, who despite his staff post was known to embroil himself personally in any action he could find. He was relatively restrained at Waterloo, riding with Wellington but was wounded again nonetheless. I am not sure anyone would think of Barnes as a personality figure choice and he may not ever have been done. Am I close Matt?:D

Ok...he certainly isn't obscure, and while FL's current offerings don't support him, Ponsonby would actually be an interesting and dynamic character. Has anyone done one in recent years? I think it would be excellent justifcation for a dozen lancer sculpts. :)

Well, I see your strategy for guessing is to name the entire British OOB! No, it's not Barnes, nor is it any one of the 14 other personalities you named. :D

Besides, I never said it was restricted to Waterloo did I? Perhaps we're launching a new Penninsula range just for you and kicking it off with this fellow...or perhaps I'm just being cheeky. :D

Best,

Matt

Ah well those others were not guesses, just ruminations in support. Thanks for eliminating them for certain though, there are only a few left now.:D No you didn't mention Waterloo but until we have that Peninsula range, what else could it be? BTW, if you launch it, I can assure you it will NOT be just for me.;)

That is so true! We could start from the beginning with Sir John Moore!:D

Bill,
Just between us ,I think he is just messing with ya .;) As we all know he is to busy Making a figure of Blücher playing dice on the head of a Guard drum ,while smoking his pipe , and drinking Napoleons wine wearing his captured Hat :D

Actually he rather enjoys doing that; as I do.:D But I am sure he is serious about him being a Brit. Of course Sir John would indeed be a nice choice but only useable for one battle.

Very True:D:D

I must admit I am not a fan of passive poses. If we went off duty a Wellington jumping a hedge while hunting would be rather nice; of course we could have an on duty Wellington doing that to avoid capture at Quatre Bras as well.;)

If you do Rommel, remember he has to be pointing at something with his foot on a jerry can or rock. There may even be an international law requiring it. ;)

Wellington why is it always Wellington ?? ;) We all have our Hero's ....How about Blücher taking part in the infamous horse race that Wellington forbade him take part in . Of course I would like to capture the part of the race with Father Forwards on the Horse before he took that bad spill and hurt himself . I'm getting side tracked :D but I think a First Legion version of Blücher would be GREAT I gotta have it!!!!!

I think that Wellington is destine for a pretty passive pose if he is to fit with Uxbridge.

Who says they have to fit.;) There is plenty of room for an active Wellington at Waterloo, perhaps encouraging Maitland etc.;):D

Why not under the horse?!
