Hi Guys,

Following on from the success of our 2 x F4U Corsairs... “Pappy Boyington’s Marine version and the US Navy one we are looking at what comes next...

Here is, I hope, one distinct possibility... the magnificent TBM “Avenger” This is a ‘monster’ of an aircraft but one of my personal favourites.

Back in the day, Gordon and myself lived with our parents next to a Royal Naval Air Station, HMS Sanderling (now Glasgow International Airport).

In the 1950’s the Navy still flew a handful of Avengers and I remember seeing one up close during the annual “NAVY DAY” when the base was opened up to the public and you could get up close to the aircraft on the flight line... maybe even be allowed to sit in the cockpit!

To a couple of young lads as we were then (I was about 10, Gordon just 6) the Avenger was HUGE! Looking at it, it seemed as if it could never have got off the ground... never mind the flight deck of a carrier!!!

As you can see we painted this prototype in “BUNKER HILL” markings... Hope you like it.

All the best,
Andy

WOW! A real beauty for sure. The Avenger is my all time favorite WWII carrier based plane. What material is it made of . . . . polystone, wood, or something else? Looking forward to seeing this at the Chicago show next week . . . .

First of all Guys, thanks for the positive feedback on our 'Avenger' prototype...It just arrived this week, that's why I wanted to share it with you....Re some questions:
1. What's it made of..?
A. Something else.

2. Will it be at the Chicago Show..?
A. Alas not, we still have some 'gremlins' that need to be worked on and 'ironed-out'.

More 'Q&A' later.
Many thanks for your interest, Andy.

ANDY ... the wonders of the Toy Soldier World keep rolling out of the K&C design studios like water over Victoria Falls.

For me it is like going from "Famine TO FEAST" ... and what a feast the last year as been for me.

{sm3} First, I am over joyed to see the introduction of the Japanese JN series with all those incredible planes (Carrier/Ground) and figures.

{sm4} Then you astound me with the 2 Corsairs and the new US Navy figures and Boyington's boys.

^&grin Next, I was thrilled to see the P40 as represented on Pearl Harbor

{sm4}{sm3} THEN .. I am really excited to see the USMC series pop out of nowhere.

NOW YOU TEASE US WITH THE TBM ADVENGER??? {bravo}}

Gee Andy, how much to you think this old heart can stand?

See ya' in a week or so.

When you see the Tarawa diorama in the flesh, that might be it for you..................hopefully not as I gotta eat.....................:wink2:

Andy,

Not only did I love the plane, but even more the "something else" it is made of... If I may dare to speculate, seems to me (I hope!) you guys are venturing in a new medium that will enable the production of bigger planes (and lighter) in quantities that will be cost effective (production and shipping) and within K&C's high quality standard. If true, and judging by this beautiful Avenger, it’s going to be a game changer in the TS industry...
Anyway, if none of the above applies, what a nice bird you have coming our way!!

Very, very nice . Hope this beauty will be in an affordable price range .

Best wishes and happy collecting!

Uh, oh, he's been nipping at the cooking sherry! {eek3}

Wow - what an excellent addition - a TBM avenger. The Pacific isn't my collecting range but with the Corsairs, the marines - it really is starting to be temping. Impressive Andy
