Ya just hate to see this but it happens!

Took the pieces and carefully reassembled them testing for fit before gluing. Contrary to popular belief AC glue works well.

Great repair. Lucky they came of on larger pieces I did a Chaffee that was in a right state and posted on the site. Have you ever had to mould new track?

I have used putty mould to make new track when necessary and it can be added to sections which are beyond repair and painted and look as good as new.

Agree about the use of Glues.

No but it would be a great thread!

I was thinking of getting some track links from hobby supplier and having it blown off.... We will see

This track is compromised so it will end up in a dio. Much weathering and mods to come on this one.

Agree it would be a great thread. I have moulded many track sections as its hard to get tracks to match with 1/30th. Look forward to seeing this repair progress

So you can see the tread was and is missing a couple of teeth. A nice winter dio should do the trick. A bit of mud and snow will hide the damage and maybe even strengthen the tracks. The treads are compromised but, the price was right.

A note on the tracks. Since they are more fragile I could run a flat piece of brass stock on the back of the tracks. Epoxy them or super glue it, and cover in mud.

Also there are three types (that I know of) super glue; standard, super thin and gel. I used the super thin and gel. The former to fill the later to wick in to the hard to reach places.

Great job mate i envy people like you and Mitch,John o'Brien etc etc im all thumbs it would look worst if i had ago.................:D

You could mould some and adhere them to it and repaint. Its what I do and works really well I use sillicon putty which is a two part solution which, just needs hand mixed and then place around the good section of track and you have a mould then, just cast in whatever medium you wish and track teeth you have!!!

Its still great job.
Mitch

PS. Wayne thanks for the compliment
