FORCES of VALOUR BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!! (1 Viewer)

But maybe they smell the blood in the water from collectors of the contemporary 1/30 makers, so they're heading into that school of fish instead.

Prost!
Brad

I really hope not. The glut of 1/30 makers seems to consume the hobby. The manufacturers need to remember that some of us don't have the "disposable income" to put into the pre-painted figures and expensive heirloom-quality vehicles. We gravitate to the more affordable 1/32 plastic lines like AIP/TSSD/CTS et cetera, and paint them ourselves. We also wish to have "true 1/32" vehicles with reasonably good accuracy and detail. I'd be willing to bet that we represent the larger segment of the hobby numerically, and we shouldn't be ignored. True, injection molding is expensive, along with 3D printing, but software lasts forever, and injection molds also have a long lifespan. There is a good profit to be made in our niche.

What are you guys talking about!? 1:30th scale!?
VORCES of VALOR and its 1:32 scale vehicles, probably sell 50 times that of the 1/30th scale vehicle market world wide!!!!
METAL is a COTTAGE MARKET for rich guys over 60.
VORCES of VALOR will come back strong into the open arms and wallets of its devoted fans and customers.
(as long as they have their !@#$% together, WE WILL BUY!)

Let me clarify my previous comment--I did not mean to imply that FoV is making 1/30 scale vehicles. I mean that they have seen how well those lines have done and concluded that they can charge more than they did in FoV's previous incarnation. That's how I would explain the suggested retail prices of a hundred bucks for a vehicle.

I am nowhere near 60 and by no means rich !!! so that theory holds no water ^&grin^&grin

Hey guys, don't forget there were Two different series of their 1/32 range. The Enthusiast Editions had more parts and detail with better paint work and were sold in specialist stores such as hobby outlets and toy soldier shops.

The cheaper Action series had fewer parts, minimal painting/weathering and were sold in large chain stores. In Australia the Enthusiast sets sold for approx A $100 when originally released here which was a similar price to K & C tanks sets at the time. I really liked the detail on the FOV sets, but their figures were poor and I made the decision to switch to King and Country as their sets were better value. The new FOV sets may be more expensive however they are nowhere near the RRP of current K & C sets. And I've noted that early FOV sets often sell for high prices on the secondary market.

Brad, what I'm saying is that FOV has done well inthe past and will do well again.
The last thing they need to do is yet another scale, let alone 1:30th.
Metal and 1:30th vehicles are a niche cottage market.

I myself, 47 own vehicles made for the metal and 1:30th market, but the fact is 95% of the guys buying that stuff are 60 and above.
Not saying its bad, just stating the demographic.

Forget about 1/30th scale. I did not say that they are going to make 1/30th scale vehicles. I said that they raised their prices, because of they saw how well 1/30th scale vehicles do,and they decided that they could charge boutique prices, too.. And if you think they will do as well as they did in the past, at $100 a vehicle, I have to disagree. They went out of business before, selling their offering at prices accessible to a broader market. Now, if they're starting at a price of $100 per unit, they are deliberately restricting themselves to a smaller market. Sure, you may be willing to pay, and there are likely others, including previous fans of the brand, but I bet there are many who bought the brand before, who will think twice.

FOV prices are about $75 a tank.
When you guys see FOV selling for $100 or more, you're probably just seeing after market greed on E-Bay?
Second, UNIMAX (FOV) never really went out of business,
they just ran their brand into the ground with endless re-issued re-paints and an obvious lack of interest.
Their market would have always been there if they were to have just swapped out alternate turrets and added little extras.
The new company that has purchased FOV seems to get this concept!
I love their willingness to make bold strides.
I predict it will pay off.
You watch, the prices will be around $75 an item.

Sure, $75 is a little annoying, $50-$60 is more reasonable.
But I ask myself, do I love money or do I love my hobby?
If you'd would rather have the money, collect blue chip stocks instead.

PG

It's not a matter of loving a hobby, it's a matter of being able to afford a hobby, and for the merchant, it's a matter of whether he is going to price himself out of business.

HOT CHICKS & TOY SOLDIERS! That's what life is all about!

The Plastic General

Right, two things that go together, hot chicks and toy soldiers..........^&confuse............like apples and hand grenades.....................
