I am 77 and will be 78 in January (is that even possible?), but still collecting like there was no tomorrow. In fact, I am expanding (e.g., my King & Country Blitz), not cutting back. My good friend Bob W. is also 77 and is likewise still going strong.

I'm 86 . . . still buying a little (much to my bride's dismay) and doing some converting now and then. What am I going to do with it all?

62. I collect all kinds of toys. Toy soldiers have their own appeal. When I find some I usually can't resist…
Cheers

I’ll be 52 in a month. When I started collecting back in the late 1980’s, there were a bunch of collectors in their 20’s and 30’s. Looking at this thread, it seems like that is no longer the case. The hobby seems to have aged with me.

Exactly! In fact, most of collectors are those who used to play with plastic toysoldiers in the 60ies and 70ies,maybe, even 50ies.

Started painting figures and busts after I retired

My collecting of painted figures has been greatly reduced.
Something must really catch my eye to purchase it
My latest was the WB Gen
Arthur Currie
Still love the hobby !

My son is a legitimate collector and he is 14. There are a few kids in the hobby, but not enough.

My son is 17 and is the same. He still wants to go to the shows with me and always comes away with something that usually cost me a pretty penny. I'm glad to know that my collection will be going to him one day. What he chooses to do with it is up to him but at least I know he loves the hobby and there is a good chance that he might hold on to all or part of the collection.

I have the exact same thoughts about my son and passing my collection down to him someday. I hope you take as much joy from sharing the hobby with your son as I do from sharing it with my son.👍

34- started my collection in about '95, and still going. Slowed down collecting and painting in the last few years due to life and a toddler, but hope to share the hobby with him someday.

I am 52. Growing up in the late 1970s and 1980s I collected, painted, played with toy soldiers. Half of my collection
from those years are in pieces - missing arms, heads, bases, etc. I then took a long hiatus, and
I just got back into the hobby in January 2019, and absolutely love to be back!
I am encouraged that there are some younger folks here, and that some member's children are into the hobby; but
sad that those numbers are so few.
