FPW01-FPW12 Franco-Prussian War French Infantry! *NEW SERIES* (1 Viewer)

Images uploaded...………...the first one is my favorite FPW painting, it depicts the fighting in the church cemetery at Gravelotte St. Privat...………..

The Invalides museum of history in Paris explains that the french painters couldn't show large battles because the french lost...So they represented some limited french heroic actions , focusing only a detail.

Maybe some Chasseurs d'Afrique? (this is a Franco Prussian War Era Chasseur d'Afrique shako I picked up for my Franco Prussian War display):

I got tired of waiting for the next release so I picked up this 2 foot tall painted metal statue of a Franco Prussian War Chasseur a Pied for my display. It was made in the 1870’s and I have a matching 2 foot tall Zouave on display from the same maker:

Thank you, Brad!:smile2: First you and Ken Osen got me into the Civil War, where I learned about how many elite regiments adopted the French Zouave (5th New York) and Chasseur (14th Brooklyn) uniforms, then I got into World War I, where I loved the 1914 French Uniforms where they were still using the red pants, and the Zouave Uniforms went into combat for the last time, as well as the early German Uniforms, with Pickelhaubes for the Infantry and Artillery, Chapka and Ulankas for the Lancers (Uhlans). Naturally, I gravitated to the Franco-Prussian War, and the French and German uniforms that were the precursor to the classic WWI uniforms.

The new editions to the Franco Prussian War display . . .

We currently have firing poses for the Prussians and Algerians finished. We do not (yet) have them for French.

Best,

Matt

Looks like Matt might have given us some information about what to expect once this pandemic is a bad memory . . . I'm hoping Algerians means Zouaves . . . or Spahis . . . or Chasseurs d'Afrique.
