Frederick the Great (1 Viewer)

Wow! These are really wonderful. My compliments, again, to John and Konrad!

Beautiful Konrad. And John's painting is so good. I'm looking at those thin red stripes on the coat. Really impressive. I look forward to the diorama you have in mind.

Much kudos to you both :) now you need the standard bearer to go with them.

Magnificent figures. You are a fortunate man. Mr. Beating Retreat is a real artist. -- Al

Congrats to you on those figures. They are really extremely special.

They capture the history and grace of the hobby.

And then there were three!
It is my great pleasure to show another addition to my Prussian Gardes du Corps Cavalry. The new arrival, which I received today, is the Trumpeter.
Again, an excellent sample of the skillful painting by John and his "superior gloss" style.
Painting those thin parallel red and white lines must be quite a challenge.
Here are a few photos to show off this splendid figure.

Outstanding!

You are a Great patron of the artists on our forum.

Long may your patronship continue and your masterpiece collection grow:)

Hi Konrad,

as an avid collector of the Army of Frederick the Great, I am most impressed with the figures, which I have seen in the Mayfair shop of Tradition, but mostly I'm very pleased to see the fine deatiled gloss finish achived. Well Done John!!!

I think that I have to get stuck into a few castings that have been languishing in my 'to paint' box, they are the foot figures of the Austrian Army who opposed young 'Fred' in the 1760's. I've checked them , and there are 8 figures, so I think that will have to be my next project.

If you like I'll pass on images of them so you can see my paintwork, but the rest of my 7 Years War figures are loacted here http://members.upnaway.com/~obees/soldiers/pa.htm

regards,

John

Thanks a lot guys,
it is with great excitement and anticipation that I am awaiting this one day in a month when a package gets delivered from across the pond and I can enjoy a new "superios gloss" figure.
Obee, it would be great to see how you paint the 8 Austrian Army figures and your 7-year war collection is very impressive. Superb work!
Konrad

Hi Guys I usually leave any return comments to Konrad as they are his figures, but this time I must say thank you for all your great comments, I have just one more figure to finish off to complete this very interesting and unusual set, I can not say what the next figure will be, as I will let Konrad reveal that to you:rolleyes: but needless to say I have enjoyed painting this set very much:)

Kind Regards John

Hello all,
today I received a new addition to my "Prussian" figure collection. It is the Gardes du Corps Standardbearer.
Every time I receive a figure from John I am like "This got to be the best one yet!" and so it was today again. I spent a good amount of time to look at this figure and admired the fine work after unpacking it.
Then I got the camera out to share this new aquisition with you.
Here are some views total views from all sides and in my next post I will show some details.
Konrad

Well, the Gardes du Corps Standardbearer was the last figure for the Prussian group I comissioned from John.
Next month it will be a start of a new series of mounted figures and I am very much looking forward to it.
As a last photo I want to show the four Gardes du Corps figures together.
