What the heck..... they both have wine with them :) :)

John

Yeah, the one in the hussar uniform (who doesn't dig a chick in uniform*:wink2:), plus she is carrying French wine as opposed to beer (look carefully), lastly, just take a look (sorry England- this is one area where France wins^&grin).
-Sandor

*Actually, French officers used to dress their whores in full hussar uniform, probably due to the tight leather pants in fashion then. One or two TS companies actually make said whores, but thge only one I have seen is Nimord's, and it is in bust form{sm5}^&grin.

A French whore in bust form? I don't know just how to take that!

Larso Be careful. After all those years at Catholic school I don't like having the Bible quoted to me, particularly the Old Testament.

But back to toy soldiers - I love the diorama by Terp152 of the British Square and the French cavalry. Gives me something to aim for as I begin collecting. It reminded me of the painting by Philippoteaux titled 'Battle of Waterloo' which shows the same scene. I have a framed print of it above my fireplace (which I had installed to cope with the vicious Brisbane winters when I start to wear long sleeved shirts).

Jack

Hi Jack, here's a repro oil painting I have above my dio. Thanks for the comments guys. Chris

I think the French Dragoons are great; a great mix of poses. I think that, like the Cruissars, they were some of KC's best Naps.

I passed on the Lancers because I did not think they were very good and the mix of parade & battle poses meant I did not think they would look good; for me Nap Cavalry is about a mass charge.

Here are some of the Dragoons I have picked up over time.

Cheers

Very nice collection Gazza and outstanding photo work! I too passed on the Red Lancers but have 9 of the Chasseurs. Chris

My sentiments exactly .. although I would really go for "at rest" or in "parade" poses, if at least 8 or 9 pieces of a release were in concert.

Your collection of Dragoons look really super. They are right up there with the Scots Grey pieces. Regret that I only managed to catch the tail end of these releases. :(

Anyway ... there's the Horse Grenadiers of the Imperial Guard to look forward to :p

When are they due? Just bought most of the Scots Grey! Is there more cavalry to budget for?

Yes, we can expect new NAP cavalry in 2012. On the allied side, the Greys have all been retired, except one. For the French, the Cuirassiers are almost half retired leaving only 5 to 6 pieces still in stock.

The subject of new NAP cavalry, I am told from this forum, was discussed in the last Chicago show and that the
Horse Grenadiers of the Imperial Guard was mentioned as the foremost probablity. :p

So yes .. it would be prudent to start budgeting for new NAP cavalry. {sm4}

Merry Christmas

Many thanks for getting back. They are a must buy when they do come out.

Unfortunately my wife is no help in my budget plans - her view is if you work hard you should buy whatever you want. That's why I drive a 67 MGB and have a TV the size of a small house. Anyone who thinks collecting toy soldiers is expensive should buy an English sports car!

Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!

Jack

Great collection of Dragoons. Hope the new French cavalry is as good. Hopefully we will also see some new Brit cavalry to replace the the Scots Greys.
