Fun with Pirates (5 Viewers)

Picture of the Day to kick off a swashbuckling Monday. Let's remember to have fun out there! :)

Swashbuckling fun does not have to stop in the confines of one's "man cave" or "woman cove". Playmobil has solved our desires to remain in the house like a "couch potato" by creating carrying cases. Accessories can quickly be placed in a compartmentalized case for journey to that next "play date".

Here's a little set from 2008 with one figure with different hats/head coverings, spring-firing cannon (to take out Mike's pirate ship) :giggle:, and lots of elements. The case also provides an excellent storage method.

Have you ever thought about a storage case for your toy soldiers? Playmobil certainly has it covered. ;)

Have a great day! :)

Only problem Rob, I would need around 100 cases to carry my TS’s. Your Playmobil collection is starting to look like it outstrips all your other collections. Robin.

Best to quarters! Man the guns! Full sail! Arrrrrr, we've been threatened maties.
Mike
as cannon balls splash the water! 😃
Mmmm, seems you're missing the Bottles of Rum, or do they only appear at weekends ! 😉
it's in the little barrel and if not, I've got another set with a jug or two ;)

Would have to pick just a "few good men".
I dabble in several things, Robin. Probably not unlike many here on the forum, have collected a lot of everything over the years.

Me as well, like Smurfs, Exo-squad, Bucky Ohare, pvc characters, Lunar Jim etc. Robin.

I got a few of those little blue characters as well. LEGO, action figures, and comics too (to name a few).
There's a show on US TV called Collector's Call. Last Sunday, they featured a guy who has been collecting Smurfs for decades. Could not believe his collection.

I started collecting Smurfs from BP petrol stations back in the early 70’s Sold around 350 figures, castle, windmill, mushroom houses and a ton of accessories recently, in preparation of moving, hopefully early next year. These few escaped the sale somehow. Robin

Wow! Those are some awesome sets, Robin. I always thought the windmill was super cool. Probably hard for you to part with. Some of mine were gifts when I was young man. Of the figures you still have, I have the one with the mushroom umbrella.

Cool 😎 looking background picture Rob. Definitely fitting for your pirate displays. St. Elmo's Fire . . .

Flashback Friday!

Here's a little pirate longboat (3570) purchased as an accessory set for my first pirate ship. Great stuff came out of the late 70s and 80s including this little set. One of the nice things about these early Playmobil sets was the use of metallic gold and silver paint/plating (as used on the plates, cups, candle sticks, and lantern). The metallic paint made these little treasures much more realistic. For a Flashback Friday, thought I'd share this little "pirate treasure".

Have a great weekend. :)
