I've been waiting for this bad boy. Sweet! I love the green and black color scheme and the logs & supplies look great. Very nice detailing. On my Christmas list!

That looks really nice. Nice touch with the logs, just like in the film version. What was the purpose of the logs, to add more protection against small arms fire, or tank shells, or both?

I think mainly extra protection against Anti T shells

The logs were used as unditching beams. The practice started in WWI with British tanks carrying a square wood beam on top

In WWII they were heavily used by Russian and German AFVs which carried them across the back or on the side. Usually just 1 or 2 logs.

Looks like DD179 with olive and black paint scheme and lots of stowage instead of plain olive drab and no stowage. DD179 cost $205 when the Can$ and Aus$ were at par with the US$. The new model DD279 looks much nicer, but I shudder at the cost at what is likely to be well over $300 Canadian. Still, I'd rather have the new model.

Primary purpose for the logs was to get the vehicle unstuck and allow it to move in poor road conditions.
The secondary benefit did give "Some" added protection to the vehicle !

Very nice rendering of an iconic Sherman. like the late war camo pattern. not really interested in film tanks, but this is nice in it"s own right!!. 1 major criticism WHY Ö" WHY does almost every tank released by KC have the tank commander holding/looking through a pair of BINOCULARS????????. Personally i am more than tired of this overused pose.....Come on KC there are loads more things that the guy on top can be doing!!!.

I'm hoping to get a sneak preview of this tank at the London Show next weekend. Andy had mentioned that it was in the works some time back.

With this one and the previous two Easy Eights, you almost have a full platoon, and if you throw in the other "classic" Shermans, a company or troop...

It will be scale appropriate for the figures so no worries about it looking small with K&C figures. It's a repaint of the previous K&C Easy Eight Sherman and that was in the larger size.
