Future Force of Valor (FOV) releases (1 Viewer)

Carlos, did you paint all those vehicles or did they come that way? I liked how they looked with K & C soldiers.

All but the German 8-Ton Mover came painted by FOV. The 21st Century (8-Ton Mover) originally came in panzer gray and was painted by Mark from Build-A-Rama.

The Winter Tiger pictured in the previous page comes like that but I sprinkled some flour. This makes the FOV BoB Tiger even better looking in a diorama sitting. However, crumple-up some bay leaves and sprinkle the bits around for ground cover for obvious reasons. It looks great.

All of the FOV vehicles come in various paint schemes except the US Vehicles which come in the typical OD color. The exception is the BoB US Vehicles that have been winterized nicely.

Carlos, look on the Treefrog Photo Gallery page under the name Michael Haynes, I think some of them are shown. Michael

Michael,

The mere scale is immense, very impressive Michael. When are you going to post so more?

Carlos

Has anyone got hold of a FOV 88mm yet, and how does it compare to the 21st Century version?

On another forum a post mentioned that the German 88mm and the US 105 howitzer were being shipped soon. That OUGHT to put them in US stores in a month or so. THere were others who stated the mid-summer release was still accurate. Anyway, the production 88's and 105's aren't availabvle in the US yet.

Personally, I'm hungry for that 105!

Me too Gary, I can't wait until they come too.

An addition to the US 105; One can adapt it to the 3" towed AT gun that equipped the towed Tank Destroyer battalions in Europe. The Army added the barrel of a 3: AAA gun to the breech, mount and carriage for the 105 howitzer and "voila" a 3" AT gun. These guns were towed by M3A1 halftracks (also available from FoV). They weren't very successful, in fact some of the most common photos of them are in the column that was ambushed at Poteau Belgium in the early part of the Battle of the Bulge. They are in the background as German soldiers move past. Anyway, a new barrel, a new angled splinter shield and you pretty much have the towed three-incher!

I have some of the Britains 105mm artillery pieces. I wonder how the FOV and the Britains compare side-by-side. I really like the Britains. I have three of them in tow behind three K&C GMC trucks and they look very real, even with the 1/32 and 1/30 difference. The others are on display as a 1/2 battery on the firing line.

I guess the guns would look a tad smaller but I've found that the Britains WWII artillery figures are actually 1/30, and match the K & C figs exactly.

I agree with you, the guns appear to be 1/30 but the figures are certainly 1/32. I have yet to get the K&C pack 75. I have a couple three of the Britains and I am interested to know how the two versions compare. The figures with the Britains pack 75 are 1/32.

If I read your above post correctly Michael, it sounds like you actually disagree with me :)

I have the Britains 105mm, 105 Pack and 155mm (Long Tom) artillery sets and all the figures are as big as my K & C figures and therefore must be close to 1/30 scale (60mm+), yet the weapons appear to be 1/32 (54mm) making the men appear large compared to the guns. I also have the Frontline 5.5 inch field gun and crew and those figures are tiny compared to the Britains crews.

Let me make this clear, I AGREE WITH YOU. These electronic forms of communication sometimes lead to this confusion, and possible offense. I am not offended, I hope you are not. I AGREE WITH YOU. Of the The Britains you listed I don't have the Long Tom. Sure would like to get one. I keep checking eBay but the darn thing does not seem to be for sale that often. It must be so good that it is a keeper for its current owners. I would like to see Andy come out with some Allied artillery for any of the WWII series that he makes. It would also be cool to have a 155mm SPA piece.

Michael

OK, OK, I think you just had the scales around the opposite way to me, which confused me :)

Btw Michael, you should note that the 1/32 scale Britains 155mm - Long Tom is made from ordinary resin, not polystone or metal, and not as good (imo) as the 155mm they made years ago, but the figures (1/30 scale) are ok.
