G'Day everyone!

I thought I'd take a moment to say hi! :smile2:

After a bit of thinking, I have recently decided to get into collecting King and Country figurines and as such have come across this forum. I was lucky enough to have picked up a very nice 4 vehicle and 30 soldier collection of German Battle of the Bulge figures and have decided to start collecting to that (AUD$350 for the lot via eBay - a bargain in my opinion!)

My big interest in military history is usually very Australian focused (I'm ex Australian Army (2/14th Light Horse - see my Avatar) and I also run an Australian military history business - Regimental Books) but in this case as I really like the German uniforms (especially the SS cam!) I have decided to focus on German WW2.

The two K&C fields I want to focus on is Battle of the Bulge and Berlin 1945.

If your wondering why I selected "The Ruskie" as a title it's two fold :)

Like many others, I want to see more WW2 Russian figures and also my family background - Russian! My G/GF commanded a Siberian Rifle Regiment in World War 1 and my GF was a midshipman in the Imperial Navy. {sm4}

I guess I also want to get some WW1 figures sometime - I'd like to do a Battle of Mons dio with the (retiring) charging Uhlans and also one with the new WW1 German biplanes - I love the purple one!

I look forward to discussing K&C with you all.

Hi Mark - my G/GF was a Colonel :)

I also had a great great uncle who was a MAJ-GEN in the Kuban Cossacks!

And another great uncle was a Russian pilot flying with the French in WW1.

Thanks Wayne!

I'll post some pics of my collection next week when I am back home (currently in Brisbane on a work trip).

LAH is another area I'd love to delve into - I love the black uniforms!

Welcome aboard, Mick! You know, our good friend Howard (Northgatewoods) is also retired Australian military - he served in Vietnam in the 4th Light Horse Armored Regiment.

A very warm welcome to the forum Mick, good to have you aboard.

Mick mate,
Welcome aboard the Forum. Pity your from Sydney though.^&grin^&grin. As the boys have said always good to have another Aussie with us. The OZ collecting scene is getting larger by the day.
You have a great range of Aussie Military History Books. I purchased a bunch from you in February this year.
Keep posting cobber.
Cheers from Melbourne, Howard

Thanks guys!

@ Howard - I do get to Melbourne on occasions and yes, we have a growing range of books. We also have some very interesting projects in the pipeline as well.

When did you serve with PWLH?

I also run Australian Armour (though its in serious need of updating at present) so I'm always keen to meet and talk to ex RAAC blokes. :)

This forum has brilliant - great pictures and information so far.

Mick
