I thought there was no English subtitles on the Our Mother's Our Father's release...?
I found out how to hack my DVD player & made it region free...Do you know where online I can get a copy of the original release ?

Thanks ,

Joe

Good line was when the German was writing to his mother just before Kursk and tells his mate he told her he did not think he would be enrolling in the summer semester at University.

Spoiler alert. Kursk does not work out as expected for the Germans.

It is unusual Australia seeing something on TV before the USA gets it.

The documentary before GW about what happened to all the the samurai/officer swords surrendered in WW2 was interesting. Seems there are some very valuable swords that may have returned with GI's after the war. This includes one of the most valuable ones that was handed down for generations through a famous Samurai/Shogun family. It was picked up from a Japanese Police Station by a Sgt and never been seen since.

Ok so I missed the 1st episode but really enjoyed the second and will have to watch the final act next week!
I don't mind that its in German with English subtitles sounds more authentic.

Didn't know there was another version.

There isn't another version. Title change is all and subtitles. SBS did their own English
subtitle translation. RTE2 in Ireland did their subtitle in English, but rumor has it they
did a spotty job.

That's easy to do. Hopefully your DVD player and television plays PAL. If not you'll either get a
black screen or odd voice due to the higher frame rate of PAL.

Good ending, if I am prepared to get the DVD, must be good, releasing in Feb, will order. Robin.

I agree, I was glued to the TV right to the end and that's rare for me as im not a big TV watcher!

Living in Belgium, I have seen it some months ago on the German TV network
It's a great story of some young german friends taken in the turmoil of WWII, none of them willing, but patriot nowadays . Patriotism fading face at the reality of war and nazi exactions .
It show how the Nazi construct changed peoples definetely for the worst or the best, with a constant behind : frienship .
A realy great story
