I've been on the fence about getting this tank from the beginning. I asked your opinions about this awhile back, but with prices going up, I have to make a decision. So what do you think? Is the Crusader worth getting? Phantom Warrior, is this in your "core" collection?

It's OK....Not one of my favorites but OK....at the lower price probably worth it.....

I have the model and it is a good one, but it is not one of my favourites and is not part of my core collection as is the Matilda. I don't think it has the history of the Matilda, General Grant or desert Shermans. But that is just my opinion. I know of several Brits that think it is an excellent model and just love it. I'm sure I will hear from them.:D Lucky for me they are all sleeping now.

I think the model is fine but it's the underlying tank that's not terribly exciting. Shermans, Grants, Matildas and Honeys are a tad more interesting. Like to see a Valentine but I've been shot down.

I would love to see a K/C Lee or Honey remake...Michael

I have one and like it very much. I supose because it is different, but I always enjoy seeing it when I walk into my den.

Thanks for the opinions. Let's see what Rob and the other Brits got to say. Its almost time for them to be rising. I have the two Chevy trucks & the reece jeep, so I thought it would be a good tie in. Then again, there's so much other stuff to consider. After see Eazy's shot Germans from the Mine Laying Surprise set, I'll be definitely getting those. Also KC ambulance & 1.5 ton truck. CS King Tiger looks good. And not to mention TGM. Hah! I thought I was almost tapped out with these price increases. Well, I guess I'll be around a little while longer.

I say go for it! Its a great little tank really love it. Its one of the first tanks I picked up as the desert stuff is how I got pulled into K&C in the 1st place, untill they bring out a desert Sherman its definitly taking centre stage in my desert dio. So I'd get it while its cheap you won't regret it.

It's the only British K&C Tank I don't have yet but am definitely going to get it , wasn't sure about this when released but like so many K&C items it grew and grew on me and now is a 'really want' item . This was aided by a DVD I purchased entitled British Tanks at war which showed it racing across the Desert (was a pretty fast tank) , perhaps not as famous as other Brit Tanks but the completist in me must have it,

Rob

I really like it, much more so than the Matilda. It's a well done piece and I'd definately get it. For me, it's the piece of Brit armour I most associate with the Brits in N. Africa.

I have this one and really glad to have it!
If you play Call of Duty 2 there's a great level where you take control of a Crusader speeding through the desert taking on Pz.IIIs and 88 emplacements. Great tank and worth getting before the price goes up.

I have two Crusaders in my core 8th Army Desert collection. The problem is it was a terrible tank as were most of the other British early model tanks. Anyone interested in an in depth understanding of British tanks in WW11 should read:
The Great Tank Scandal by David Fletcher, volume 1.
It is the best book on this subject that I have read and I have read many.
Before all of you enthusiasts from over the pond contest my comments, I suggest you read this book.
Did everyone one know that when the British came back from Dunkirk they brought back exactly 13 tanks. They left all 23 of the matilda's sent to do battle on the European continent. The Germans were only too pleased to study the Matilda and accelerate their armor plating and up gunning after that.
While the Valentine wasn't much better it is a shame that K&C wont produce one, just because they were a significant factor in 'THE Desert War."

Valentine is a must do tank for North Afrika.

Does anyone know how many Crusaders the Brits left in North Afrika after the victory over Rommel. All of them :D

Terry

I've asked Andy, as I noted earlier (albeit cryptically), about making a Valentine, and was told no. Not even a maybe, just a not interested.

As Figarti has made a great looking Honey and the best Sherman, maybe this could be something they could do.

Just like not ever not even maybe just not interested would there ever be a jagdtiger. Take everything said about what Andy likes/doesn't like/not interested in with a huge pinch of salt is my motto.

So, expect a valentine at stores near you soon!!!
Mitch

Rob...

It should be written somewhere that half way through a month one can have a ''mini- dispatch'' debate!!!
