The show is this coming Sunday from 10:00am till 3:00pm at the Eisenhower Hotel and Conference Center, 2634 Emittsburg Road, Gettysburg PA.

I'll be there with all the latest offerings from K & C, JJD, TGM, First Legion and my newest line, War Park, Nicholas from Crown Miniatures will also be there as will Al Green and other metal dealers, plus a number of various metal and plastics dealers, something for everyone.

Hope to see some of the forum members there...........................

I'm going to try and make it this year. May bring along my son who is 8. Do you still have those "do not touch" signs? They will come in handy for him. He is in the market for those plastic soldiers by the bag full. Historical accuracy be ****ed. He likes to mix in a dinosaur or two.

I still have the signs, if your kid loves to touch figures, I'll be sure to remove the signs just for him.

Just remember to bring a lot of cash; you break it, you bought it......................;)..................

Interesting show with the power outage. Folks roaming around with flashlights and cell phones trying to see. My son had fun. It was like Halloween with no light. He got some plastic soldiers for $10. I felt sorry for one of the dealers and bought a WWI Jenkins plane. It was so dark I couldn't really see it until I got home. The Udet WWI DVII with the red and white striped wings. Nice to see George as always. At least I think it was him since it was so dark I could barely make him out.

I've never heard of a hotel/conference center that did not have a back up generator, don't folks go to hotels to hunker down during storms? I heard a power line went down due to a tree falling, it started a fire in a field and they shut down the power to address the issue.

For 5 plus hours? What did they do, form a bucket brigade to put it out?

Thankfully, it was very busy the first hour and a half or so before the power went out..........................thanks to everyone for the support, several customers who did not bring coal miners helmets to see said they'd come to MFCA next weekend, so we'll see how that show shakes out.....................it's always something in this business, never a dull moment................

George,
great seeing and visiting, I left just as the power went out as I couldn't see anymore and gave up. I like the show better when it was in downtown venue. I know it was small and had parking difference, but I just liked the show better, it was more fun.

Cya Thursday!

My wife and I had that strange mid-life realization that yesterday for the toy soldier show was what "Empty Nesting" will be life for us. She texted me as I was driving up "Well, Christian is at work, Victoria is with friends at the Senators game and Chooch is at his buddies house playing video games and partying. You are in Gettysburg and I am going to church. Guess this is what empty nesting will feel like" {sm2}{sm2}

While walking around one of the vendors stops me and goes "Anyone tell you you look like John Cena." "Yes, in fact I hear that often- my daughter and her friends say that." {sm4}

This was the first time a dude said I looked like Cena- dudes usually say Howie Long, women say Cena. Go figure! {eek3}:tongue:

I just had an idea for a Horror movie: "They are Alive!" I like the idea of the combination of flash lights, elderly slow moving gentlemen caught between rows of tables that they cannot see and real steel weapons as used by the Russian Manufacturers.

And now back to my rewatch of "Game of Thrones".

It felt like more like being in one of those Irwin Allen disaster movies from the 1970s. Something like a land based version of The Poseidon Adventure.

Leave it to that fleabag hotel not to have a back up generator. I'd move it to the Wyndham Garden hotel across town off of route 15, the one they built next to that IMAX theater or whatever it is, it's a very nice hotel, not a dump like the Ike is.

Most of the dealers took the gas pipe at that show, I really felt bad for any attendees who had to travel any sort of distance and arrived after the lights went out, thank God for the double doors on both ends of the room and one set in the back as they led right out into the parking lot and it was a sunny day, so the lighting wasn't a total tire fire.

Imagine the poor bastards in the all star complex running the dog show down there, that place is a massive tomb, must have been total black out in there.

What nut punch, now I get to do it all over again next weekend at the MFCA show, quite a few attendees at Gettysburg told me they're coming to MFCA now as they weren't planning on going to both, but now they will, we'll see........................
