I usually don't post over here on this thread that much - but, I dropped in on the New Gettysburg Battlefield Vistor Center today for a quick look and saw where the Gift Shop was selling BRITAINS !

I was very pleased to see the Britains display - really wonderful - and a nice selection of Civil War Britains figures to be had.

I bought two for my collection HOOD and LONGSTREET - both are simply great and perfect detail. There are now with my other Britains, Conte and King & Country figures in one of my Civil War dioramas at home.

In past posts I have mentioned how terrific these new CW Britains figures look and how the detail is exceptional. I really enjoyed looking over the new releases and look forward to adding more CW Britains to my collection !

Ron, those are great figures. No arguing the crispness of the details or the paint work. They have been getting better and better with each run.

Cool figures Ron!:D Longstreet was always my favorite Confederate!:D Also happy to say I'm vacationing in Gettysburg next month! Looking forward to stopping at many toy soldier and antique stores!:D:)

Lots of Toy Soldiers to be had in Gettysburg ! ;)

I also forgot to mention that the plastic/clam shell packaging is really great ! It is not hard to open and protects the figures very well - Britains really has its act together now ! :) I know a lot of research had to gone in on the designing of that packaging.

Unfortunately this is now going to effect my Defense Budget !

I must have more of these Civil War figures !

Ron, everyone always needs more confederates for 'Bobby' Lee's army, if you don't get some new reinforcements your Zouaves may face more attacks from Max the Destoryer!:D:p

Well done Ron-Keep the stars and bars flying:D

I used both of those figures in the diaries dio but portrayed them as Harry Heth and Robert Anderson-didn't think anyone would notice except maybe you :D

Nice pick up Ron , whats a budget if not to be blown out .
cheers Rob

Guys - Got so caught up on the Britains - I went ahead and ordered these two great Confederate releases !

Gen. A.P. Hill and Jackson's Command Staff !

UK Reb/ Bob - I thought Harry was looking a little strange :p

But, I really do enjoy your diodramas - Bob, they are really GREAT !

Ron,

Nice figures! Britains new civil war figures sure are looking good. I recently stopped collecting Britains Civil War range becasue it was just to much to get into and I am already collecting to much so I had to stop one range at least.

Congratulations Ron on your new WB ACW acquisitions. I really really feel that everything WB is doing since joining First Gear is just top notch including their ACW range. And as far as their buildings and field accessories go I don't think there are any better. Have you seen the WB farm house that was nade for their ACW range - awesome looking. If it weren't for their Defense of Hougoumont and their Anglo-Zulu war ranges that I am seriously into I would be collecting their Civil War sets.

Bob, that is sure one hell of a figure you showed us during philosophy time on Saturday! :)

Nice photo and additions to your collection Reb and I'm sure will see these figures making their appearance again down the road. By any chance did you happen to head home with any ZW figures?........The Lt.

Hi Reb!
Glad to see you have added some new troops to your collection. The two 'Butternuts' you picked up are some of my personal favorites as of late.
There will be a fair number of new ACW releases with the next two W. Britain catalogs that should help fill in some gaps in our collection.
The first groupings should be in the next catalog and we are working to have it out in time for the Chicago OTSN show.

Just judging by the pictures, Britians Longstreet looks better than K&C's (at least the facial sculpting anyway).

That is for sure! I also think he looks way more realistic as he has cigar in hand and his jacket is a far more suiting color! IMO

Just in case you missed it elsewhere here is our Reb officer again. This time on a new custom base made for W. Britain.
This base uses our H&A 'Wild Grass' and note how the figures base is minimized, while still providing a stable base. This grass has a nice scale dispersal pattern that is much more like the real wild grass in our meadow here allowing the figures stand up easily and in a stable manner.
Enjoy!

Ken, I just got that Reb officer recently. He is a great piece, and I am thrilled with the work Britains is doing now with the ACW line. You said this is a custom base. Will Britains produce similar bases for market down the road? It has a very realistic look to it.
