Glossy ID _ "RS" Mark on base (1 Viewer)

Yeah, I have no idea. The "RS" mark rings no bells, and there's no mention of them in Garrett's encyclopedia. That tells me that they're recent, that is, from anytime in the past 30 years.
The undersides of the bases were ground smooth, after the castings were removed from the mold. The concentric arcs indicate that. King-White/Reeves figures show that, too, by the way. I am not saying that that's what these are, it's just something I noticed about the bases. The "RS" looks like it was inscribed with a rotary tool after the underside was cleaned up.
The head of the officer looks a lot like a head from the Prins August SYW Prussian molds, and this makes me think that we'll find that whether "RS" was sold as a proper brand or not, RS' figures were conversions of existing toy soldiers, perhaps using old Britains as a starting point to make masters.
I'm trying to think of any collectors I know, with the initials "RS", and who cast and painted their own figures. No one has come to mind yet.
I'll have to go through my catalogs and see if I can find anything. There have been so many collectors who sold their own figures as a business, selling via mail order and at shows. And some marked their figures, others didn't.

I had an idea to search through Haradin's auctions at Liveauctioneers.com, and see if "RS" turns up anything. I found this item, sold by a different auctioneer, but maybe it solves your puzzle, Tom?
