Yep it's a new thread devoted to our campaign for K&C to 'GO COMMANDO'.

Catchy title huh?

We have the scene already worked out - the bridge and jetty is just waiting for guys with dinghies, grappling hooks, ropes and ladders to 'go commando' all over it!

Yeah the brandenburgers or the Kampfschwimmer

Nope, the real Commandos that kept thousands of German troops tied up elsewhere for fear of a visit from the British Elite troops.

Excellent thread James, there is support here on the forum for these troops and the idea is a very good one.Taking the old Airfix soldiers as our inspiration i think K&C could really deliver the goods here.

Lets go Commando!

We've been moved into the John Gambale Suggestions thread. Possibly the only thread Andy has on permanent ignore!

Still that will not defeat us.

A commando's chief weapon is fear...and surprise!

Go Go Commando!!

Would love to know if Andy likes the idea or not.I think it could be a real action packed range myself.Vaasgo,St Nazaire,Bren guns,Face camo,Fairburn Sykes knives,canoes,Stens....its all good!.

I like the idea of a two man kayak too.
John Jenkins has shown how great canoes can be in his woodland Indians and Rogers Rangers sets.

As in the Cockleshell heroes, that would be great.I just love the idea of the different scenarios. We could have full action figures, lobbing grenades and firing Stens or the type of film scene from countless war movies in which a Commando sticks his fairburn Sykes into the ribs of an unsuspecting German guard. It is all very evocative of Churchill's idea of an Elite force taking fear and death to the occupying forces.

Exactly the kind of imagery that this range could inspire.

It was Europe's darkest hour, crushed beneath the Nazi Jackboot.... But a brave group of men decided to stand up and Go Commando.
From now on the Germans would look to the sea with fear in their eyes!

Wonderful stuff,thats the idea!.

Didn't Hitler order all captured Commandos executed, such was the fear struck into Nazi hearts by these brave Elite troops. As you say with Europe under the Jackboot it was Churchill giving Hitler the traditional two finger salute, god bless him.

Precisely the point Rob. It may only have been the sting of a gnat but it demonstrated to the world that people were prepared to stand up and resist in whatever way possible.
And the fear it created in the Nazis created greater rumours and myths.

Great stuff.

Absolutely. It very much reminds me of the Gurkha story i read about in a book on Monte Cassino.

A British officer was on patrol one night and entered a Gurkha dugout to find them in fits of laughter.Asking to be let in on the joke they related the following. The soldiers had just been out on patrol when they cam across three exhausted Germans asleep together in their MG Post.Without waking the guy in the middle they killed and decapitated the guy on either side of him and left their heads on their feet. Can you imagine when he awoke the next morning?.

Its this effect the Commandos had, never quite being able to relax for fear of what MAY come. Also the tying down of German troops who were badly needed,as you say James, multiple stings from all directions.

Go go Commandos!

Rob

Hehe that's a funny remark and it has nothing to do with this thread.
We're lobbying for some figures no political bias allowed though it's ok to hate Nazis!
Give em a taste of cold steel.

I think theres a Scot, and Englishman and an Irishman in there!.

Wayne, our humble campaign is that these have been retired and we'd like to see some more 'Raiding Commandos' as it were.
