Go Commando! (1 Viewer)

I thought it was for commandos.............

Ah,i see, sorry Wayne. We should have titled it 'Go Brit commandos'.This thread is for the Brit Commandos in WW2,much like those old Airfix soldiers we had as kids.

But i'm sure there is a demand for German Commandos too.

No Germans no Brit commando,s...........

So back on the subject at hand...

I like the idea of a two man set- the commando about to sink his sykes fairbairn dagger into an unsuspecting German sentry.
It's the kind of two figure action scene I'd like to see more of.

Ok guys,i like to think we don't mind the thread drifting a bit as long as it comes back, but this is drifting into Animal abuse!:D.So lets get back to the Brit Commandos.

If K&C were to release Commando from a specific battle it would also allow for German opposition. As i said Vaasgo would be great,it could feature some captured German officers and freed citizens heading for a new life in the UK.The LCA would be great for this,a German officer being marched up the ramp and into captivity.

I bought part one today about the invasion of Poland.
It looks to be a really good series over 52 books. Nice hardbacks too for £6.99 if you subscribe.
I think I'm going to collect these.

Ditto.I've never read much about Poland so am enjoying this.

Go go Commandos

Yes, let's get back on track. Andy likes to do themes so if you had to choose one particlar raid, battle, etc., what would you guys recommend?

I guess the theme would just be the Commando Raids on occupied western Europe. There's quite a lot of scope there for a versatile range of figures. On the german side of things it would be an opportunity for some basic Wehrmacht figures as opposition for the Commandos to get stuck into.

Go Commando!!

I think you got away with it.:D

LOL - knew you'd get it!

Welcome on board the Go Go Commando thread.
Our mission has barely begun and may end in failure but it will be a valiant effort! :)

How about a Commando raid on a V1 Rocket base?

Jeff

That's the kind of stuff we need - from the old Commando and War Picture library comics. Nothing huge scale just a few good men, dinghies, knives, ropes and grapples and a few Nazis to be the baddies!

Has there been a film with this scenario? Commandos attacking a V1 base?
If not there should be one!

Rob- you'll be good at this- any good commando films out there? I can't think of many offhand.

'Attack on the Iron coast' was a Commando raid film starring Lloyd Bridges in 1968,although its hard to take him seriously since Airplane!.;).Another from 1943 is 'The Commandos strike at dawn' about a Brit Commando raid on a German airfield in Norway.

A little known but excellent film is 'Two men went to War',not a Commando film but a very enjoyable tale of two men who own their own initiative cross the Channel to attack a German Radar station.

'ill met by moonlight' with Dirk Bogarde, was that Commandos?.Could be resistance instead.
