Good Suggestion for Andy (2 Viewers)

A friend & I were talking at work today wrt the market saturation of SS figs out there, and then he had a good idea. Let's keep the Grossdeutchesland going. France '40 has been done, and we have Barbarossa, Operation Blue, Kharkov '43, Kursk, & Poland/East Prussia. Just about any piece of equipment that served in the war could be made, including lend lease armor for the Soviets. Plus, you get to add some of that sexy Wehrmacht Splinter cammo beginning in 1942. What's even better, it's one of the best (perhaps THE best) photo-documented units in the entire German military. Loads of books out there. What do you think?

Barbarossa might be too close to France, but 1942 starts to get quite interesting in terms of equipment & cammo. Kharkov has been popular the past few years wrt book readers, maybe that would be a good starting point. You could even do the early Tigers of sch.bat. 503 in whitewashed panzer grey with the Feiffel air filters on the back.

Good idea. After all the regulars vastly outnumbered the SS so I guess they deserve more attention. Let's get some classic Germans. To me there really is a saturation of SS figures.

Much appreciate the suggestion from “Dr. Big” about the potential saturation of Waffen SS in the WW2 market …

It’s only getting a little saturated because two of the “newcomers” (you know who) have followed K&C’s lead with WSS subject matter.

Now while K&C will also continue with our Waffen figurines we’re also planning regular Wehrmacht figures and vehicles as well.

Look out soon for a Panzer Lehr Self Propelled Gun as well as an army Kubelwagen and, later in the year, lots of Wehrmacht infantry and armour … plus a few surprises.

So, fear not, K&C will definitely not be ignoring the Wehrmacht! That’s a promise.

Great news; SP's, Kubelwagen and Wehrmacht infantry, simply awesome!

BTW, I have three of your US GMC 6x6 trucks and I love them. My only regret is that I got only on set of the passengers.

I'm not sure they were a big seller for KC but if they weren't, the legions of collectors missed out on that one.

No, 4K isn't really all that many employees. Aside from the CEO, I think we are the only two who collect. My friend was hired a year after me & took the job immediately when he found out I was a collector too. Luckily, I was on the dinner schedule that month!

By the way, alot of German units (air & ground) had a dog as a mascot. That would be something new. Pilots even flew with dachshunds tucked in their flight suits.

This is first I ever heard of any German Pilot flying with his dog. Where did you read about this?

At one time I had 3 people in my unit who's fathers where Luftwaffe Pilots. I had talk with all 3 off an on for many hours. One said he had been shot down by everybody at least once even his side. The last time by the US and got sent to America as a POW.

Thanks, Andy. Life in King and Country collecting land just keeps getting better and better. Lots of Wehrmacht infantry and armour, that has such a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Anybody out there need their lawn mowed, car washed, house painted, windows cleaned, etc.?

Wehrmacht..wundervar! Kubelwagen and motorcycle with side car maybe? How about US M3A2 Personnel Carrier (with cupola), M3 Scout Car, M32 Tank Recovery Vehicle (HB is coming out with the German Bergepanther, no need to duplicate this one).

A good friend who is an avid KC collector passed away recently. He was hoping to have the above models before "kicking the bucket," well, I guess that's life. Just got to settle for what you produce (my kids are already doing inventory of my KC collection...uh-oh)

I hope the surprises include some more cavalry as I was a bit late to the ball and missed out on the good ones.

Note to Andy: I guess there were heaps of ugly horses in the German WWII cavalry but could you guys just model the good looking ones such as your recent LAH 63. Some of those early horses had heads on them like camels - but maybe I'm just fussy

I had a look last night for you...the Fw190 book mentioned an ace who flew 20 combat missions with his dog, trying (in vain) to train him to look for the bad guy. In the Me109 book, there's a pic of another ace with a dachshund poking his head out of his flight suit...but does not specifically mention flying with him.

Also, I've done archival research for books in DC, London, Paris & Koblenz, and two animals keep showing up in the German pics...dogs, and pigs. The Luftwaffe guys had lots of dogs, and the army guys never went without their pig (until they ate it)

Would you please tell us the titles and publishers of these books? I would like to add them to my collection. My WWII History Books out numbers my Toy Soldier Collection and its not small, plus I'm dog lover and at onetime had a pet pig.
