I get a note from a guy in France complaining that the ebay shipping calculator is incorrect. Well, funny thing, right in my listing, it says "International" calculator may be incorrect. However, b/c he is in France, I will only ship USPS Priority as per paypal rules, it is trackable and a 9ounce figure costs $35.50 to ship per USPS.com. So after I say that, he emails back "who are you kidding". I simply directed him to check it out for himself.

Point of all this is that some people in general are rude. I don't set the shipping costs nor do I set the ebay rules. If he replies again, my response is going to be - "How about I pay you to take the figure, would that be easier?".

Thank God, it is only a hobby, if I was in it full time, I probably would be in jail for committing great bodily harm.

Well, Tom, I've enjoyed every trade I've made with you, sir! I look to the positive. ;)

Prost!

Robert Rodin, who happens to be my cousin, wrote a book titled......"Free, Perfect and Now: Connecting to the three insatiable customer demands."

Its a tough market out there so you better keep your sense of humor and remember that "good living is the best revenge."

So this gets better. Now contact back and tells me how many items he has had shipped first class, etc by location and basically insults me repeatedly albeit in a polite manner this time.

Finally got sick of this, blocked him from ever bidding by adding to my blocked bidder list, quite a handy tool, it is almost like a preemptive strike in this case!

WOW, over a $13 item, I told him, might I suggest you find this item elsewhere!!

I understand very well your reaction to such " nervous " buyer

Why is he amazed by the sending cost ?
It's because he does not understand how lucky we are in Europe
eBay does not force any transporter, simple postal is allowed
So if I deliver a small parcell < 350g from Belgium to Europe or USA the price is 8.90€ (11,86$) but no follow up, no signature but if you do a trackable one, the price Belgium US is 32,40€ ( 44,70$ ) but Belgium is particularly high priced
I buy toy soldiers in France, Italy, Germany, England and the price vary for 1 or 2 pieces between 6 and 15€ some trackable, others not .
( Remember, no toll anymore inside Europe )
More; what he does'nt seems to know, is that if you deliver from US by post, the post in Europe will make a declaration of import costing between 12 to 50€ and he will pay the VAT ( added value taxes ) and this above the sending costs .
This is why I don't buy via eBay in US and I am not happy with that, because you have/had plenty of US made products very difficult to find in Europe .
So this guy over reacted in a bad way.. bad manners . I apologize for him; we are not always bad tempered .

Best:smile2:

I,ll say it again. I now use ebay as a last resort. I will sell an item even at a lower price thru other means than to deal with the BS associated with an ebay transaction.
Like Tom said if I had to use ebay as a big source of income I would be as Carl said in the movie Slingblade, I,d be in a "nervous hospital".
