imho the German stuff looks better in grey Indeed, 10 times better than any cammo.

I agree and as I said in my prior post....Why K/C does not make "grey versions" available is beyond me....there certainly seems to be much interest among collectors

 First and foremost Alex, this is beautiful work. Your eye to weathering is superb!

Now regarding the parallel discussion around Tiger 332 3./s.H.Pz.Abt.503.

The first three pictures show s.H.Pz.Abt.503 tanks in early 1943 presumably in RAL7021 "Schwarzgrau". Note that initially the units numbers were white with a thin black outline and the unit emblem was present on the hull front.

Later on the unit emblem was removed.

Here are a number of pictures of Tiger 332 taken at a later date:

Now regarding the parallel discussion around Tiger 332 3./s.H.Pz.Abt.503.

Hi Frank, further explanation is necessary maybe not for you, but I can really see others getting confused here. In late 12/42, 3 fresh tiger companies were injected into the Stalingrad/Red Counterattack front. The first was the 2.502 which was designated to go to Leningrad to join the 1.502, but got sent south instead as explained above. The 2.502 had 200 series numbers and the mammoth insignia.

Days later, the entire 503 arrived too (1.503 & 2.503). These had 100 & 200 series numbers but with cat insignia. Shortly after new year, the 2.502 became the 3.503 but no numbers/insignia were changed during the fighting. So the 503 had two units fighting with 200 series numbers, but with different insignia (former 2.502 still had the mammoth, and 2.503 had the cat).

When Army Group A was safely extricated from the Caucasus & Stalingrad had be overrun, the 3 companies were withdrawn to Kharkov to refit & reorganize. That's when the repainting took place. Training, minor skirmishes, some pictures with Turks, and then came Kursk.
