I used to collect some military firearms. Currently only have a couple left. One is my father's sidearm, M1911A1 .45 cal. Colt, from his time in the US Navy during WW2. I have a P-08 Luger my uncle gave me after he traded a returning vet for it in 1945. I have had a 1903 Springfield from WW1, an M-1 Garand, M-1 Carbine, and a Kar-98, and a Walther P-38. All gone now except the two handguns I mentioned first. -- Al

Been collecting US military firearms for about 10 yrs. Have 8 M1s, 1903, 4 M1 carbines, 4 Mausers/K98, Arisaka, Springfield breech loader, Enfield Mk4, 2 Krags, P38, 3 Walther PPKs. Haven't added to the collection in a while. Would like to add a .45. Go to the ranges with my sons and we did some reenacting and living history displays. Nothing recent though.

I like the historical connection. One M1 manufacture date is Oct '41 and wonder where it served.

My black powder weapons are for reenacting. A repro Brown Bess and a repro Enfield for CW/WBTS. I do have a Springfield Trap-Door 45-70 with bayonet that belonged to the local Massachusetts militia company. It may have seen "service" in the Boston Police Strike of 1919. (Custer era technology!!) I picked up a modern shot gun recently but nuthin' special, just a tool.

Guns are a whole 'nuther hobby that take $$$$$ and responsibility waaaay over toy soldiers collecting.

Completely forgot the two Enfields I used to have. Had a WW1 1917 dated Mk. III with bayonet and a Savage Arms Co. manufactured Enfield No.4 with bayonet. Had the bayonets for all the above mentioned (1st post) rifles, as well. -- Al

I can't count how many guns I own...

my favorites are my AK47...Chinese model...

and

Bushmaster M16 223...

both semi...not full...

and of course...the first rifle I ever owned...for sentimental reasons...

a scoped Sears and Roebucks 22...

with my initials and the date "1965" burned into the stock...I was 10 years old...

I have not fired a gun in over 2 years...excluding 4th of July and New Years...

I have 3 Mossberg 12 gauge pistol pump shotguns...including the "Persuader and the "Mariner" (stainless steel) models...

along with all my father's, brother's and grand father's hunting rifles...

not to mention all the hand guns I own...

I'm from Texas...:D

I really don't fire them...I just like them...I have not hunted in 30 years...

Here is a set of matched Smith & Wesson's I picked up a few years ago.

Most of mine are also unfired, except for the pieces used for squirel conrol!

I do own a couple of old black powder pistols, and a bunch of modern firearms but those are all hunting related. The pistols are a Colt Navy model and an old Dragoon pistol made by a firm called Haston, they are both fully functioning but I dont use them. They fit in well with all my other cavalry related bits and bobs.

That is interesting Uk...how is this allowed? I though England banned full-auto firearms...Is is a dewat?

Done a bit of shooting in Scotland and some range shooting but, its a lot of hastle getting certified in the UK to have firearms. Much prefer the US system and, when I visit the wifes family they all have hand guns rifles and everything else in multiples.

In my opinion a better choice is a Benelli 12 gauge it can fire 5 rounds in 1

second with its rolling block system. Using buckshot it is able to deliver more

shot a city block away then an electric mini-gun in the same time frame.:D

Loaded with buckshot and 50 cal slugs in a 50/50 mix.....you can't really ask

for more firepower.:D

I agree! I used to have a FFL and traded Benelli, HK, Galil, Uzi, anything exotic really. I found HK's to be the most accurate right out of the box, Benelli the same quality. Everyone always liked the AK47's, SKS's and other russian/chinese weapons that flooded into our marketplace. They were usually crude but very dependible.

My latest pickup is a very nice Sig Sauer 556. It is very nicely designed and
constructed. I put a EOTech Holographic site on it which I like very much.

Here is a stock shot of the weapon.
