Dear All

Dispatches will be out later this week, just waiting on some pictures and final confirmation of what is coming to us. However as a nice little gap filler and some company research I have attached pictures of some older and some newer Gunn sets on terrain boards.

Our first set features the sturdy HS123 somewhere on the Russian front surrounded by pilots and ground-crew with lots of additional security in the form of a flak gun and a Russian armoured car, now converted to a German configuration.

Most of you will recognise the Henschel as one of our wooden aircraft we released last year, for those of you still after one then I am pleased to say we have had 1 or 2 samples of the 'green' and the 'winter' version coming in from our factory, if you would like details and cost then please email me. The armoured car is from our V Series releases and is also still available from us and our dealers.

Our second diorama board features the fantastic looking Dornier 335, one of the fastest single seater piston aircraft of WW2 and also one of the largest with a 14 metre wingspan and fuselage length.

WH001 tractor unit sits next to it, ready to tow this monster out for a test flight whilst a mechanic carries out some last minute maintenance. The tractor unit is still available from us and as you can see it looks great in this configuration.

Last but not least I have included pictures of the Foreign Legion as they march out lead by a mounted officer. The keener ones amongst you will spot 2 new mules which will be available this month as accessory packs. A senior officer takes notes as he stands on the balcony of a local house, perhaps counting how many come out and wondering how many will come back? The building is from the K&C range and I am sure many of you are already using K&C's super buildings with our FFL range, in the absence of an FFL fort being available on the open market.

This nicely brings me along to our next question:

1. If the airfield terrain boards were to be available from us how many of you would be interested in something like this?

2. If we were to produce a small FFL fort how many of you would find this of potential interest?

If we get a good response we will look at making both but as we say the ball is in your court! For those of you waiting for a building for the Rising Sun series you will be pleased to hear this is already underway as well as a Japanese tank.

I hope to get Augusts official release notes out to you at the end of this week, until then its Au Revoir and speak soon.

Best wishes Vicki Lucas

I want two fort!!!
you can launch the production i am sure it will be a success!!!

Interested in both fort and the airfield terrain board.

Great to hear a Japanese tank is on it's way would be even better news if we also got a Matilda or Stuart to go with the Australian figures in the Pacific series.

Regards
Mark

I would certainly buy an airfield board but on two conditions
1. The brick wall should be included and
2. the joints between the concrete slabs should be less pronounced . The ones in the dio will cause undercarriage damage

guy:)

As I indicated in my email response to TG, it is impossible to answer the question without knowing the price.

These things can't be answered in a vacuum.

now you tell me lol... likely be interested in the airfield

On closer inspection, these terrain boards look poor. Contrast it with one done by K & C for one of the Chicago Shows.

True Neil but the terrain boards shouldn't look like someone's bathroom floor.

Or like this. :)

But I like the idea that such an idea possibly be implemented!

Thank you for all your comments guys it has been most useful.

I should have said that the two airfield terrain boards were ones we had privately made in order to display aircraft on at trade shows, they are not the ones we are going to make in our factory. If we go ahead and manufacture something like this then we will obviously make alterations and some improvements as suggested in the comments by forum members, which incidentally have been invaluable.

The FFL fort idea received a very healthy response and we will do some research on this and then let you know how we get on. Most people seemed to like the idea of a small Fortlet or fortified Desert Outpost rather than a large fort.

We have mulled over the idea of making the FFL series is a smaller scale in order that a larger fort could be made, but I am not sure this would be popular except if you were a new collector to the series!

Once again thank you for your responses, it took me an awful long time to work thru them all.

Best wishes Vicki

Hi Carlo,

The FFL fort that you show here is a Brazo one?
It seems nice but just too big, imagine the cost for us collectors and the space it would take....Then the size of the garrison we would have to buy{sm3}{sm3}{sm3}...Not to mention the size of the Tuareg army that will attempt the seige.....hahha
I would prefer a smaller fort, one like the ones you have made in the past....why not post here some of the pictures of your forts so as to give the group an idea from which to discuss from?
Cheers
Luiz

If you can make something that is closer to the K & C version, that would be welcome as I have over 20 wooden planes that could use such a display.
