Well, what a pleasant surprise. I check the Forum first thing this morning and find ten birthday greetings from my toy soldier collector friends awaiting me. Thank you Buster, Martyn, Vandilay, Jeff, Leadman, Rob, Lancer, Glossman, MikeMiller1955, and 4th Hussar for your kind sentiments. It is much appreciated.

My wife, son, and I plan to spend the day at the Getty Museum in West L.A. and then have dinner at a Santa Monica restaurant. Also, I hope I can talk my wife into letting me buy a new curio for my collection on my birthday.

Just a small update: My wife said no (as I suspected) to the new curio since it would have to go into a room other than my toy soldier room. The Getty Museum is fabulous and well worth a visit if you are ever visiting Los Angeles. It is free with $15 for parking.
