Thank goodness we have HM as our head of state.... we get a Queen's Birthday Holiday :smile2:

Funny thing..... here in 'the Swan River Colony' we get Nov 28th as our 'day off'... but thats due to CHOGM this year.... Google that !!!

Happy Birthday to the Queen. I got to meet the Queen on her visit to the US in the late 50's (1958?). She visited the Children's Hospital in Washington, D.C., that I was in at the time. We were all lined up in our wheel chairs, etc., and she came down the line to say hello. Pretty sure the Queen doesn't remember me, but I remember her. Belated thanks for the visit. -- Al

Yes although I would have said The Queen's Birthday Parade is also know as Trooping The Colour, not the other way round.

Happy 85th Birthday to the Queen of Australia and the other fifteen countries she is also head-of-state for - the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

And I look forward to watching Trooping-The-Colour on 11 June. Coincides with our Queen's Birthday holiday on Monday, 13 June. True pageantry only the English know how to do correctly.

It really will. I see on the news there has been a surge of street party requests over the last week. Really looking forward to getting together with the family on Friday to watch it.
