Thank you Rob and with the sun continually shining these last couple of weeks certainly is a bonus for St George's Day. But remember the English do not have exclusive rights to Georgie boy as he is also the patron saint of Ethiopia; Russia; Portugal; Palestine; Lithuania and a host of other countries I cannot remember at the moment also dozens of cities such as Barcelona and Rio De Janeiro have claimed him as their own Santa Jorge.

Although "George" is classified as a military saint (appropriate for our history) and a Roman soldier to boot I would have personally preferred a real English warrior as our Saint. Who knows in a hundred years or so some religous diocese may decide Churchill or even your favourite Montgomery himself fits the bill more aptly and those two would indeed be exclusive to the English.

But on reflection Sir Winston's Day-St Bernard's Day somehow just doesn't have the same resonance :D

:D

Yes indeed mate, whilst St Winston day may be very popular I've a feeling St Monty day would not be so warmly welcomed;)

Have a good day Bob,its good to see the flags flying today and for once its not because we've made it through the first game of some football competition;)

Thanks, but I'll have to decline, and wear a leek in my cap on St Davy's Day, in honor of my paternal grandfather ;)

That's them! I see them a couple times a years around here. "Gosling Green" facings.
