Probably because between Memorial Day and Labor Day the average temperature in Phoenix is over 100 degrees Farenheit.

But it's a dry heat

Good Turkey Day story...I was in London on Thanksgiving in 2001...right after 9/11 etc. Not too many tourists walking around which made the lines (or queues as I found out they were called) a lot shorter. We had just left the Cabinet War Rooms (Good times) and saw a restaurant with a sign out front that read...."Happy Thanksgiving Americans...we have TURKEY". So of course in we went for a very special UK Thanksgiving Day! Great hospitality from our cousins across the pond!

Btw, the usual response to "Queue Jumpers" (people that push in) Downunder, is to say "far queue mate" and point to a line further along

True story: I lived in western New South Wales as a kid and in really hot Summers, some of the road bitumen/asphalt would melt and stick to your bare feet - not a fun experience
