Has K & C ownership changed hands? (1 Viewer)

Why would you think that?

Whatever we think, we are only actually customers, i would not blame Andy if he did or did not say anything.

He has been a great force for good for the Toy Soldier collector, i would argue he has been one of if not the most influencial individual ever in our hobby. Without him and K & C we would not have the breath or depth of Toy Soldiers or the array of manufacturers. Who followed him and decided to create their own companies etc.

Exactly on point.

Even if he has not sold the position or added investor(s), it’s inevitable that one day he will pass the business onto someone else. None of us are getting any younger.

This is old news. Those in the know were told many years ago about the buyout of K&C. Well known collector Charlton Heston bought the company and kept Andy on as front man. Then when Heston knew his time was limited he passed on the ownership to Phil Collins who prefers to keep quiet about his business dealings. Rumour has it Rod Stewart is next as he is realising playing with trains is a bit immature compared to playing with soldiers.

Andy will naturally deny this but it is time for the secret to come out.

Ah but you would deny all of this that is already known to tin foil hat wearers everywhere that there is a secret cabal involved in this conspiracy and is actually led by the little green men from planet Zog !:rolleyes2::wink2::tongue:

If there was a move it not be for months and there would 2 or even 3 more shows before the move. Would take time to organise and there would have to be considerable lead time to give everyone the information required to organise. If they do move I hope it will stay in London, moving out would restrict attendees and exhibitors in terms of travel, especially the non-UK exhibitors/visitors.

Disagree there mate. London actually puts a lot of people off events due to the businesses, Congestion etc.

I think Birmingham or somewhere more Northern would be a better fit. Coventry has a great exhibition centre.

I do not think you are in any way correct, there used to be a show in Brum and then it moved to Stoke and then it just dissappeared. I exhibited at the Brum show and it had really poor visitor attendees.
Has to be in London, as people mainly get public transport, it is eaiser to get to than anywhere i can think of when you consider it widely. In this case location is not about Geography it is about population density. Moving to somewhere like Coventry, would it attract more people to attend or fewer than London. I would say the later.

Any exhibition centre would be too expensive for the organisers, that is why they left the design centre. Best place i have been to Toy show at is a sporting venue, loads of parking etc.

People from the North are more likely to visit a show in London, way more than people from the south. particularly those that live south of London, travelling upto Brum or beyond.

On density look where the main dealers are, MKL, T Gunn, Grey Goose and M Militaire are all in the south.

What do you mean by 'businesses'?

I must congradulate you on your normal practise of when you think Andy/K & C has been slighted or there is something negative about Andy/K & C you try to deflect the conversation. I find it sad and pathetic.
In this case it was a genuine question, as from the thread it was a rumour going round the show, as i was not there I wanted to know if it was true and i think, in some way, Andy would have wanted to know as well. I thank him for his answer and clarification, K & C will continue with the Status Quo [my musical reference], however, i would not blame Andy for not saying anything as it is his affair/business, but had to ask.

Out of curiosity, if you were not at the actual Show...How do you know this particular rumour was actually going around the Show..?

As for me being interested in hearing a rumour that has no substance to it...Mmm, not so sure but thanks anyway.

Finally, I really don't think Brett (Military Workshop) was rushing to my defence... or even trying to deflect the conversation...simply having a little light- hearted banter, no more no less.

Next time you hear a little rumour like the last one feel free to contact me directly in Hong Kong. I'm already in regular contact with quite a few Forum members here and would be delighted to add you to that number! On that cheerful note...
Adios for now,
Andy.

Actually I did not take your post as meaning Andy had been slighted and I did not even consider your post as being negative in any way. My sincere apologies for an attempt at humour and not realising that it would be considered sad and pathetic.

Why would you think that?
Because there would be little advantage in doing otherwise. I seriously think this, friend.

Unless, as Steve said, he's a front-man. I, personally, think he's a robot (with an excellent Scottish accent) controlled by the alien Eyeball-people who are taking over this galaxy.

But jazzeum is correct, he doesn't owe us his business reports.
But I still think he'd tell us.

Happy Holidays to All!
