well, they say grey is the new black or, something like that??? So, with the advent of the new grey onslaught we are expecting at the Chicago show and, that there may be some german armour released as mentioned my third Tunisian tiger rolled of the paint line recently in grey. I would have had four but, for circumstances beyond my control so, the hunt is still on for at least one more.

This one has no markings yet as I am undecided what unit it will be. Definately Heer so maybe Grossdeutschland or similar. I cut the bottom half of the standing figure that was in the set and repainted him along with the others and now he sits better in the turret and I was never keen on the sitting radio guy. The others are in the process of having long trousers placed onto them with a bit of milliput and will be ready later.

Who said grey is boring?? roll on Chicago

Mitch...

Simply fantastic job ! With both the Tiger & the crew...

Like it Mitch, for me it's just how I instantly see a German tank in my mind, probably brained washed with all the Black & White Combat tv series so long ago. Same for a horse, the first thing I see in my minds eye when someone mentions a horse is Brown or Bay. So mention German equipment I see it in Grey first and than move on to what the colour it really is, so come on Grey I say, cheers, Robin.

Thanks for the comments. Back to the drawing board the next consignment arrived and, this one looks a whole bigger job!!!

Great result as usual ,I think you still have some weathering to do on the tank ?. Please post some picts of the Germans dressed in milliput long trousers. Would love to see the result.

Guy...

Nearly finished the figure conversions and, will post them when I get a chance. In terms of weathering there is a bit more done than what actually showed on the pics but, there is some pin washes to do and add some unit markings. As these are cabinet displays rather than for dio use I try to keep the weathering limited so they blend with the other sets. too much and they look stand aparts from the rest of the collection and, I don't paint everything I get only some.

Mapleleaf...

Thanks for that. I think we may get one at the chicago show or sooner if the grey trend continues!!

Wayne...

Lets just say they choose to just repaint. They have the excellent Tunisian mold and the current Kursk Tiger to make an early grey model accurately. They do not even have to make a new mold for this release so, it would make sense to do one.

I know that K&C mentioned two new models but, I would hope a ''new'' model would be a late war version steel wheels and similar as we have not had one like this. I would also like to see the prototype version made based on what became the elefant chassis but, wonder if thats too obscure for collectors.

Either way dispatches are here soon and the show a few weeks after that so, we should know soon enough
Mitch

Lets hope your right mate.
