With some of King&Country's newest offerings I think they are doing an Excellent job in offering Repaints and Variants at the factory level. Given examples such as the
Russian T-34 from months back done in 3 Soviet versions with a German captured version, the new 222 series armored car done in grey and already done in a winter
version with detailed weathering, and the newest grey Tiger which expands upon the previous versions of the Tiger already done.
The collector can have the various assortment of vehicles done in different paint schemes, but at the factory level straight out of the box !!!!
Now the collector doesn't have to hassle with acquiring an extra vehicle to send off somewhere to deal with the perils of shipping to and from one location
to another and the added cost of shipping and labor involved in the whole process. Plus the added benefit of getting that grey, winter, or desert version
fresh out of the box as the "factory" had intended. There are those who would argue about specific unit markings,etc.....but all in all I think Andy is doing a
fine job offering all of the different versions as we have seen in the most recent dispatches. All the better for the mint out the box purists :wink2:
Another reason why K&C gets my collecting dollar.

Is this not just the same thread but, with a different title from the whether to repaint or not??. We have ascertained your stance on repaints and, we are indeed blessed with a number of colour schemes from K&C but, many will still require the bespoke model or figure.

What you say is fine for the so called purist but, that term is rather aloof in that it kind of demeens the collector who wishes to do what they want from whom they want to their sets.

You have made it clear you feel K&C meets what you wish for as a collector but, hundreds of other people do not agree and want their cake eat it and have seconds and thirds. Thats when they can call on a number of very talented people to do the work they require at a rate they are happy with. You mention the risk of damage what risk? that would be less of a risk than with some manufacturers delivery or, at worst, the same.

You also miss the point in what repainters and converters do for collectors. I have not met one yet and, I know many good painters from around the world and, its not about doing it better than a manufacturer its about doing it differently or, to their or, the collectors taste. They are by nature able to spend a lot longer on a model than the factory painter and, would therefore be able to do a lot more detail work than you get from the factory. They can offer to the individual collector through their talent, skill whatever you wish to call it something that the factory can not offer to the collector who has a vision of what they want.

How would collectors like Wayne and Howard Neil have ever been able to get some of the items in their collections that have not been made by the manufacturer without repainters? They could not. even Andy has said they will never be able to produce all the things collectors want.

You don't want them in your collection or what have you but, many others do. Don't see how that seems to annoy you or confuse you so much.

Its a complete win win situation for the collector and, the manufacturers as more sets will be bought to do repaints.

We have also ascertained your stance on repaints as well. Why do you feel the need to reply with a negative right up front. I agree with you on a requirement for a more personalized touch to realism in the repaints. A factory paintjob can only do so much. It is not an aloof thing for someone to prefer no changes, if you want that then go see a BMW or Ducati motorcyclist. There is no demeening of persons wanting to improve the paintjob. Nor is it taking away of a persons income when they do a repaint and place it up for action.

With all that in mind, lets get along.

NO.........................^&cool The purpose of this thread is to identify K&C's in house ability to do variants of their factory releases. No need to be preached down to here.

Thats "MY" opinion and I'M sticking to it !

Well, yes, KC is doing now what CS has always done: different versions of the same armored car....Now, you can hope for opening doors in future...:p

It is amazing the amount of product K&C brings into the marketplace "Each and Every Month". Nothing but plain and simple fact. I am very impressed with the fact that
along with all of the different ranges, eras that K&C does adding their own Early War, Winter, Desert variants to their vehicle releases straight out of the box
is the icing on the cake for me. Seems the cake has been getting better and better with time ^&cool
