Hi, My nae is Paul and I live in Boston... My dad is actually the collector in the family. He collects alot of WWII German, and American soldiers. His biggest feat to date is a Germn parade complete with Hitler, the gnerals, 3 cars some 50 men marching, banners etc. I will try and get some pictures up next time I go to his house. The reason I am here, is my dad is pretty sick. However, he just has a tough road ahead. He wants to slim down his collection, for he will be moving once he is released from doctors care, and the nursing home. So here I sit among a ton of figures. I have been able to match some up to the #'s on the boxes. Alas, I am far from done. Can anyone suggest a good place to find pictures of sets, as I am not sure if there are 2, 3, or 4 in some sets etc. Also what would be the best way to sell this collection? Being that I deal in sports memorabilia, I will definately sell seperately in sets etc. Any suggestions on websites to go to ? Any help woudl be greatlyappreciated.
Thanks
Paul

Hello Paul and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear your father is ill and I hope he will be ok. 6th Wisconsin gave you the best site for King & Country pictures. Most all of the sets from old to new are there. Good luck with your search. -- Al

I have another question, if I may.. Are there any special sites, that deal with the buying/selling/trading of toy soldiers? Or are there any sites, dealing with resale value guidelines? As somethign is only worth what someone is willing to pay.
Thanks

www.toysoldiersusa.com is great for King and Country, if that is what is in the collection.

WOW!!!! I knew when I saw this forum, I would get some help. I have been all over the internet today looking around trying to identify this stuff. Alot I will be going looking blind, but I think I have it all right in front of me...:)
Thanks everyone.. also I am sorry in advance, if I ask too many questions...'
On that note, How do you know if something is a limited edition run? what it is #'d to? Does it become more wanted if it has been retired?

Dear Paul:

My sympathy with regards to your father's poor health and at least for a time his going into a nursing home. If you post photos of the K&C sets (and others types for that matter) that you can not indentify at the Tree Frog Treasures Forum I am sure any number of people at the Forum will be able to ID them. Also, perhaps you could find a nearby K&C dealer to help you ID some of the K&C sets. You can go to www.kingandcountry.com and click onto their dealership list in USA.

As for selling "toy soldiers" or really military miniatures, I have found that by far the best way is through eBay. If you do not have the time to sell by your self you could go with a responsible eBay consignment seller in your area who will charge about a 30% sales commission + eBay/PayPal fees. Good luck!

My limited edition tank has a plate under the tank saying that it's limited edition. Generally, limited editions becomes more wanted if it's retired. Hope I helped
