The Khaki British Infantry with Pith Helmets have the feel of early glossy Frontline to me. I can't tell you who made it for sure, but its very cool, if like me, you also appreciate traditional glossy toy soldiers.:cool:

The ones on the right look like some Trophy I own. They should be stamped on the bottom.

The Camel corps figures look to be Beau Geste or one of its related Argentinian makers.

The Camel Medic set I'm told are actually rare specially built Tradition from the 90's

Agree with Louis. The middle photo in the first set are definitely Trophy although I'm not sure about the camel.

These are all very nice sets and have much more charm than WW I I sets. I'm glad to see you're discovering the traditional glossy soldier.

Nice eBay hunting results :D The only Trophys there is a group of Highlanders with a camel.

The Officer on the camel should be on a horse

Looks like the Officer was placed on the camel as an afterthought, in a similar way to my Kitchener. The camel with the Gordon Officer doesn’t look Trophy to me.

The Trophy Gordon Highlanders are from three different sets: SS31 Highlanders w/5 privates charging & 1 officer w/pistol; SS30 Higlanders Ofcr, 4 privates w/bayonet, & piper advancing; and HLS1 4 piece command set which should have a mounted officer, sergeant, drummer & foot officer w/flag. So, what you have is one complete set plus two partial sets. Also, the officer in the second row on the left does not belong to this group and may not be Trophy. Martyn is correct in that the mounted officer should be on a horse. I have attached two photos of the sets from my collection.

I don't believe that the khaki figures are from Frontline. I have more than 1,000 Frontlines figures in my collection including: Glossy Parade Dress, Crimean War, The British Colonial Army, & Sudan Campaign; and Matte American Civil War, Napoleonic, Elite Forces, Medieval, World War I, World War II, & French & Indian War. I have a fairly good idea as to what the late Howard Swales sculpts look like and these are not his.

Thanks, Martyn. Here are some more from the same display including a set of Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders at the ready. It is the only one I ever came across in two decades of attending shows or on eBay. It might be from the Egyptain Wars 1882 range which is where the Highland Light Infantry set you spotted came from. The HLI is set EW5. I also have HLS sets 2 and 3 which are Gordons standing firing and kneeling firing which I do not have room to display. I also have an EW set of the Royal Irish, also not displayed. Boy, I wish I had not sold my set EW21 Nubian Infantry which had an Egyptian officer with a colour and drawn pistol, 3 privates standing firing and 2 privates re-loading. I don't know what I was thinking at the time.

Ed,

We want him to suffer :p. You can't be a proper collector unless you get outbid at the last second :D

Excellent sets Mike. If you like the Nubian sets you should like this BB set which includes figures from EW21 and EW23

Mike,

I surely enjoy this part of the collecting just as much as the buying and owning the pieces...of course your speaking so far ahead of me with all these numbers...maybe when you get a chance you can add an item number and or brand to each of my pictures so I can print and file with the set? It seems I have some remaining sets which are unknown? I'll try and re-read your posts and see what I can come up with on matching what you said to what I have...though putting pictures with text would be certainly helpful...hopefully this thread continues as I'm enjoying this very much.

Thanks again Mike!
